Medina High School, Newport
Medina College is a foundation secondary school in Newport on the Isle of Wight, formerly Medina High School. History Medina High School was founded in 1976 on the current site. By the 1990s, the school suffered from a falling roll and finances, with Richard Williams brought in as head in 2002, the fifth head in 2 years. Foundation School
In England and Wales, a foundation school is a state-funded school in which the governing body has greater freedom in the running of the school than in community schools. Foundation schools were set up under the School Standards and Framework Act 1998 to replace grant-maintained schools, which were funded directly by central government. Loretta Caroline Rose Minghella (born 4 March 1962) is a British charity executive and solicitor. Since 2021, she has served as Master of Clare College, Cambridge, her alma mater.
