Cave Lake School
The Cave Lake School, in Kootenai County, Idaho near Medimont, Idaho, was built in 1913. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985. It is a wood-frame building "influenced by the Colonial Revival and bungalow styles", with a hipped roof and painted shiplap siding. With It is an important example of "exploration/settlement architecture." It was used as a school from 1913 until the 1950s. At the time of National Register listing, it was privately owned and was used for hay storage. It is located on the north side of Idaho State Highway 3, near its intersection with Willow Creek Road, about halfway between the southern ends of Cave Lake and Medicine Lake. The building may have been destroyed or moved.No school seems apparent in Google satellite view (copyright 2019) or Google street view imagery (dated September 2013) along Idaho State Highway 3 where the school reportedly was located. Trail Of The Coeur D'Alenes
The Trail of the Coeur d'Alenes is a rail trail in the northwest United States, in northern Idaho. It follows the former Union Pacific Railroad right-of-way from Mullan, a mountain mining town near the Montana border, westward to Plummer, a town on the prairie near the Washington Generally following the Coeur d'Alene River, the rail line was abandoned in 1991, and the trail officially opened in March 2004. Trail route The trail's route winds through the mountainous terrain of historic Silver Valley, into the chain lakes region, along the shore of Lake Coeur d'Alene, over the Chatcolet Bridge to Heyburn State Park, and concludes with a climb to the northern Palouse prairie. Harrison, Idaho
Harrison is a city in Kootenai County, Idaho, United States. The population was 203 at the 2010 census. Harrison is located on the eastern shore of Lake Coeur d'Alene, immediately south of where the Coeur d'Alene River flows into the lake. History The community was named for President Benjamin Harrison. Harrison was incorporated in 1899 and was once the largest city on Lake Coeur d'Alene. Harrison developed from a squatters homestead to a thriving village in about twelve years. A branch of the O.R. & N. Railroad from Tekoa, Washington, to Harrison was completed in 1890 and was a prime factor in the development of Harrison. In 1891, Silas W. Crane settled on a timbered tract which joins the present city on the south and east. He built the first house in Harrison which remained in the Crane family until 1936. Area codes 208 and 986 are the area codes in the North American Numbering Plan for all of Idaho. Area code 208 is one of the 86 original area codes created by AT&T in 1947. It was Idaho's sole area code until 2017, when 986 was added as an overlay plan for the entire state. Because of its small population, Idaho was among a declining number of North American jurisdictions with only one area code.
