''Medicine, Health Care and Philosophy'' is a quarterly peer-reviewed medical journal covering the intersection of philosophy and medicine, including bioethics. It was established in 1987 as ''European Philosophy of Medicine and Health Care'', obtaining its current name in 1998. It is published by Springer Science+Business Media in association with the European Society for Philosophy of Medicine and Healthcare, of which it is the official journal. Health care or healthcare is the improvement of health via the prevention, diagnosis, treatment, amelioration or cure of disease, illness, injury, and other physical and mental impairments in people. Duquesne University
Duquesne University of the Holy Spirit ( or ; Duquesne University or Duquesne) is a private Catholic research university in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Founded by members of the Congregation of the Holy Spirit, Duquesne first opened as the Pittsburgh Catholic College of the Holy Ghost in October 1878 with an enrollment of 40 students and a faculty of six.
