A medal or medallion is a small portable artistic object, a thin disc, normally of metal, carrying a design, usually on both sides. They typically have a commemorative purpose of some kind, and many are presented as awards. They may be intended to be worn, suspended from clothing or jewellery in some way, although this has not always been the case. They may be struck like a coin by dies or die-cast in a mould. A medallion is a round or oval ornament See definition 2. (typically made of bronze but also made of stucco) that contains a sculptural or pictorial decoration on a façade, an interior, a monument, or a piece of furniture or equipment. In the United Kingdom in the 19th century, this was a popular form of decoration in neoclassical architecture. The frame and portrait were carved as one, in marble for interiors, and in stone for exterior walls. It is also the name of a scene that is inset into a larger stained glass window. The episode was written by Andrew Miller & Andrea Newman and it was directed by Liz Friedlander. Plot A strange woman appears at Cassie's ( Britt Robertson) door and introduces herself as Lucy (Lauren Stamile). Lucy is a psychic and she was on the boat sixteen years ago when the fire started. She came to Cassie because she saw her on the boat, meaning when Cassie was there through Jake's ( Chris Zylka) memory and that the reason she came is to warn her about the witch hunters who are coming to kill her. Cassie is talking to Jake about Lucy and they both go together to find her at the place she is staying. ''Medallions'' (the original Polish title: ''Medaliony'') is a book consisting of eight short stories by the Polish author Zofia Nałkowska. The book was originally published in 1946, soon after the end of World War II. In it, Nałkowska calmly related selected stories of Nazi atrocities in Poland and the fates of their victims. Nałkowska was a member of a special committee for the investigation of Nazi crimes that took place in Poland, where she had learned facts directly from victims and witnesses. Part of the text was published in English in the ''Introduction to Modern Polish Literature'' edited by Adam Gillon and Ludwik Krzyżanowski. A complete translation by Diana Kuprel was published by the Northwestern University Press in 2000. ''The Medallion'' () is a 2003 action comedy film directed by Hong Kong film director Gordon Chan in his first English-language film, who also wrote the screenplay with Bey Logan, Paul Wheeler, Bennett Joshua Davlin and Alfred Cheung Who also produced.
