Meadowhead School
Meadowhead School is a mixed secondary school and Language College with academy status in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England. There are currently around 1,841 students on roll, about 120 teaching staff and approximately 50 non-teaching staff. The school is also a language college. History Meadowhead School was created when the two schools of Jordanthorpe Comprehensive School and Rowlinson School merged in 1987. The school remained on two sites approximately 0.25 miles apart until January 2007 when the new building was opened on land in between the two sites of Jordanthorpe. Rowlinson became Norton College. The previous school sites of Jordanthorpe were demolished. The site where the North Building once stood became a Gilders Volkswagen and Audi car showroom and the area where the South Building was became the new school's playing fields. Academy (English School)
An academy school in England is a state-funded school which is directly funded by the Department for Education and independent of local authority control. The terms of the arrangements are set out in individual Academy Funding Agreements. Harvey Gilmour
Harvey James Gilmour (born 15 December 1998) is an English professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for National League side Rochdale. Career Gilmour began his career with Sheffield United, moving on loan to Tranmere Rovers in July 2018. He made his English Football League debut on 11 August 2018. After scoring 3 goals in 23 appearances, the loan deal was made permanent in January 2019. He was released by the club at the end of the 2019–20 season. He joined Stockport County on a short-term contract on 22 August 2020. In July 2021 he moved to F.C. Halifax Town. In June 2023 he signed for Rochdale. Chris Watson (musician)
Christopher Richard Watson (born 1952) is an English musician and sound recordist specialising in natural history. He was a founding member of the musical group Cabaret Voltaire, and Watson's work as a wildlife sound recordist has covered television documentaries and experimental musical collaborations. Music Watson was a founding member of two experimental music groups, Cabaret Voltaire and The Hafler Trio. Pulp (band)
Pulp are an English rock band formed in Sheffield in 1978. Their best-known line-up from their heyday (1992–1997) consisted of Jarvis Cocker (vocals, guitar, keyboards), Russell Senior (guitar, violin), Candida Doyle (keyboards), Nick Banks (drums, percussion), Steve Mackey (bass) and Mark Webber (guitar, keyboards). Throughout the 1980s the band struggled to find success, but gained prominence in the UK in the mid-1990s with the release of the albums '' His 'n' Hers'' in 1994 and particularly '' Different Class'' in 1995, which reached the number one spot in the UK Albums Chart. Candida Doyle
Candida Mary Doyle (born 25 August 1963) is an English musician who is keyboard player and occasional backing vocalist with the band Pulp, which she joined in 1984. She joined her brother, drummer Magnus Doyle in the line-up replacing the previous keyboard player, Tim Allcard who had left the band. Biography Doyle attended piano lessons from age 8, but did not practise despite finding the experience enjoyable. At age 16 Doyle was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis. During Doyle's first few years in the group, Pulp were not enjoying financial success; she has been recorded as saying that she spent more money on the band than she made from it. She kept jobs in two toy shops in Manchester, before being sacked from one for a "lack of dedication". Colin Wynn Crorkin, (born 31 January 1957) was the UK's Ambassador to the Gambia from 2014 to 2017. Early life Crorkin was born in Edinburgh and attended the Rowlinson School in Sheffield. Susan Ann Sulley (born 22 March 1963), formerly known as Susanne Sulley and Susan Ann Gayle, is an English singer who is one of the two female vocalists in the synth-pop band The Human League. Born and raised in Sheffield, England, as a schoolgirl in 1980, Sulley (aged 17) and her friend Joanne Catherall were "discovered" in the Crazy Daisy Nightclub in Sheffield by Philip Oakey, the lead singer and a founding member of The Human League. The Human League are an English synth-pop band formed in Sheffield in 1977. Initially an experimental electronic outfit, the group signed to Virgin Records in 1979 and later attained widespread commercial success with their third album ''Dare'' in 1981 after restructuring their lineup.
