Meadowbrook Country Club (Chesterfield County, Virginia) is a private Golf course, golf and social club located at 3700 Cogbill Road in Richmond, Virginia. The club was formed in 1957. History of the estate The Meadowbrook Country Club was once Meadowbrook Farm, a large and historic estate owned by the Jeffress family, who were among the earliest settlers in Virginia. The Jeffress family lived in a Tudor architecture, Tudor mansion that eventually became the original clubhouse for the country club. The family began the elaborate plantings and garden on their land, and the large formal garden was later enhanced by the "personal stamp" of Charles F. Gillette, who was also working on gardens for the Virginia Executive Mansion, Virginia Governor's Executive Mansion in Richmond and on Agecroft Hall. Meadowbrook Country Club is a country club in Northville Township, Wayne County, Michigan, Northville Township, Wayne County, near Northville, Michigan. The idea for Meadowbrook Country Club, a private Golf course, golf and social club, came about in 1916 when 23 Northville businessmen purchased of the Fred C. Cochran Farm. Mary Wingfield Scott
Mary Wingfield Scott (1895–1983) was an American historic preservationist who documented Richmond, Virginia neighborhoods and advocated for preservation over demolition. Biography Scott was born on July 30, 1895, in Richmond, Virginia. She attended Bryn Mawr College from 1914 through 1916 and graduated from Barnard College in 1921. She received a doctorate in art history from the University of Chicago in the mid-1930s. She went on to teach at Westhampton College, a women's college now part of University of Richmond.
