Md Mahfuzur Rahman
Md Mahfuzur Rahman (born 1 December 1961) is a retired Bangladeshi general. He was a Lieutenant general (Bangladesh), lieutenant general and the former Principal Staff Officer (Bangladesh), Principal Staff Officer (PSO) under Prime Minister's Office and head of Armed Forces Division. Early life and education He was born on 1 December 1961 in Rajshahi District, Rajshahi district. He was a cadet of Jhenaidah Cadet College, Jhenidah cadet college . In 1981 he graduated from Bangladesh Military Academy and was commissioned from 5th Long Course into the Corps of Infantry. Lieutenant General (Bangladesh)
Lieutenant General (abbreviated as Lt. Gen. and in contraction simply known as 'general') is a senior rank in the Bangladesh Army. It is the second-highest active rank of the Bangladesh Army and was created as a direct equivalent of the British military rank of lieutenant general. It is also considered a 3 star rank. Till 2007 it was the highest rank in the Bangladesh Armed Forces as all chiefs of army staff held this rank and navy and air chiefs were of two-star ranks. Lieutenant general is a higher rank than Major General, but lower than General. Lieutenant general is the equivalent of vice admiral in the Bangladesh Navy and air marshal in the Bangladesh Air Force. The 11th Infantry Division ( bn, ১১ম পদাতিক ডিভিশন) is a formation of the Bangladesh Army based in Bogra Cantonment. History In February 1996, President of Bangladesh Abdur Rahman Biswas dismissed the General officer commanding the 11th Infantry Division G.H. Murshed Khan for insubordination and Brigadier General Hameedur Rehman of Bangladesh Rifles.
