Md. Riaz Uddin Khan
Md. Riaz Uddin Khan is a Justice of the High Court Division of the Bangladesh Supreme Court. Early life Khan was born on 15 December 1970. He did his bachelor's and master's at the University of Dhaka. Career Khan started working as a lawyer at the District Courts on 1 April 1995. He became a lawyer of the High Court Division 29 September 1996. In May 2011, Khan became a lawyer of the Appellate Division of the Bangladesh Supreme Court. President Mohammad Abdul Hamid appointed Khan an Additional Judge of the High Court Division on 31 May 2018. In August 2019, Khan and Justice Jahangir Hossain Selim ordered Bangladesh Police to not harass four journalists in Feni District or arrest them in nine cases filed in four separate police stations on charges of subversive acts and vandalism filed before the 2018 Bangladeshi general election. The High Court Division, Supreme Court of Bangladesh ( bn, হাইকোর্ট ডিভিশন) popularly known as the 'High Court' is one of the two divisions of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh, the other division being the Appellate Division. It consists of the Chief Justice of Bangladesh and the Judges of the High Court Division. The High Court Division exercises both original jurisdiction and appellate jurisdiction in civil and criminal matters. Chandrima Uddan
Chandrima Uddan or Chandrima Udyan ( bn, চন্দ্রিমা উদ্যান; ''Chandrimā'' "moon" ''Udyān'' "park") is a park situated across the road of the national parliament house, in Dhaka, Bangladesh. The park is notable for being the place where the former Bangladeshi President, Ziaur Rahman was buried. It is connected to the road with a bridge which runs over the Crescent Lake (from which the park derives its original name). According to a 2014 ''Dhaka Tribune'' article, "Illegal establishments, drug addicts, hookers, muggers and petty criminals have robbed the park of most of its beauty." The Bangladesh Supreme Court Bar Association () is an association of Supreme Court lawyers in Bangladesh. History The Bangladesh Supreme Court Bar Association issued a statement expressing concern over the construction of Farakka Barrage by India near the border and preventing the flow of water to Bangladesh in February 1976. In 1987, the President of association was detained and placed in Dhaka Central Jail as part of a wider crackdown on dissent against the dictatorship of President Hussain Mohammad Ershad. Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir (born 26 January 1948) is a Bangladeshi politician. He has been the secretary general of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) since 2016. He was a member of the parliament for Thakurgaon-1 constituency from 2001 to 2006. In that term, he was also appointed as the Minister of State in charge of the Ministry of Agriculture and later Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism. Mirza Abbas Uddin Ahmed, known as Mirza Abbas, (born 7 February 1951) is a Bangladesh Nationalist Party politician and a member of the national standing committee of the party. He was the Mayor of Dhaka City Corporation from 1991 to 1993. He was the Member of Parliament (MP) for Dhaka-6 from 2001 to 2006, and Minister of Housing and Public Works in Khaleda's cabinet.
