Md. Moshiur Rahman
Md. Mashiur Rahman is a Bangladeshi academic and Vice-Chancellor of National University, Bangladesh. In September 2022, the government broke the trustee board of Manarat International University and created a new board which included Rahman. Early life Rahman was born in Nalchity Upazila, Jhalokathi District. did his undergraduate and graduate studies in sociology from the University of Dhaka. He his doctorate and post doctorate work from Lund University. Career Rahman started teaching at the Department of Sociology of the University of Chittagong. He later joined the sociology department at the University of Dhaka. He went on to become a professor at the department. On 10 May 2017, Rahman was appointed Pro-Vice Chancellor of the National University. Jhalokati District
Jhalokati, also spelled Jhalokathi, ( bn, ঝালকাঠি) is a district in southern Bangladesh. It is located in the Barisal Division and covers an area of 758.06 km2 It is bounded by Barisal district to the north and east, Barguna district and the Bishkhali river in the south, Lohagara Upazila and Pirojpur district to the west. Harun-or-Rashid is a Bangladeshi academic. He is a former vice-chancellor of Bangladesh National University. Education Born in Barishal District, Rashid obtained bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of Dhaka. He earned his Ph.D. degree from the University of London in 1983. Manarat International University
Manarat International University (MIU) is a private university in Dhaka, Bangladesh. It was established in 2001 by the Manarat Trust. History Manarat International University was established on 21 May 2001 by the Manarat Trust which owns Manarat Dhaka International School and College. In August 2016, Rapid Action Battalion arrested three students of the university who were members of the female unit of Jama'atul Mujahideen Bangladesh. Nalchity Upazila
Nalchity ( bn, নলছিটি) is an upazila of Jhalokati District in the division of Barisal, Bangladesh. History Some family members of Isa Khan moved from Sarail to Nalchity. Abdul Ghani Khan, a 14th-generation descendant of Isa Khan, is the current head of this branch of the family. The region later became a free looting field and slave trading zone for Magh and Portuguese pirates. In 1654, Shah Shuja built two forts in one night in the village of Shujabad to better control the region, and to resist and suppress the piracy. One was built with mud, and the other with bricks. The ruins of the forts can be seen from the Barisal-Jhalokati highway. In 1924, the British authorities established a thana (police administrative headquarters) in Nalchity.
