McNeil is a town in Columbia County, Arkansas, United States. The population was 516 at the 2010 census, down from 662 in 2000. The community was named after William B. McNeil, founder of the College Hill Academy. Geography McNeil is located in northern Columbia County at (33.346030, -93.208276). It is north of downtown Magnolia, the county seat. According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of , all land. Logoly State Park, part of the Arkansas State Parks System, is located just east of McNeil, off Highway 79. Most of Logoly's comprise a State Natural Area that includes unique plant species and mineral springs. McNeil is an unincorporated community in Caldwell County, in the U.S. state of Texas. According to the Handbook of Texas, the community had a population of 200 in 2000. It is located within the Greater Austin metropolitan area. History A Baptist church called the McNeil Creek Baptist Church was established in the community in June 1888. It was reported to have 200 members in 1983. A church and a cemetery marked the community on county highway maps in the late 1980s. The population of the community was 200 through 2000. It was also a thriving farm community settled by immigrants after the American Civil War. Harvey King was the unofficial "Mayor of McNeil." It is located within the Greater Austin Metropolitan area. Its elevation is 830 feet (253 m). History McNeil arose at the junction of two rail lines. The International & Great Northern Railroad had a track built between Rockdale and Austin, which was completed in 1876. McNeil River
The McNeil River is a river on the eastern drainage of the Alaska Peninsula near its base and conjunction with the Alaska mainland. The McNeil emerges from glaciers and alpine lakes in the mountains of the Aleutian Range. The river's destination is the Cook Inlet in Alaska's southwest. The McNeil is the prime habitat of numerous animals, but it is famous for its salmon and brown bears. McNeil's Nebula is a variable nebula discovered January 23, 2004 by Jay McNeil of Paducah, Kentucky. It is illuminated by the star V1647 Ori.
