Scottish Gaelic ( gd, Gàidhlig ), also known as Scots Gaelic and Gaelic, is a Goidelic language (in the Celtic branch of the Indo-European language family) native to the Gaels of Scotland. As a Goidelic language, Scottish Gaelic, as well as both Irish and Manx, developed out of Old Irish. It became a distinct spoken language sometime in the 13th century in the Middle Irish period, although a common literary language was shared by the Gaels of both Ireland and Scotland until well into the 17th century. Most of modern Scotland was once Gaelic-speaking, as evidenced especially by Gaelic-language place names. ''S-Town'' is an American investigative journalism podcast hosted by Brian Reed and created by the producers of '' Serial'' and ''This American Life''. All seven chapters were released on March 28, 2017. The podcast was downloaded a record-breaking 10 million times in four days and had been downloaded over 40 million times by May 2017. William Sugars McLemore (1830–1908) was a circuit judge for Tennessee and a colonel in the Confederate States Army during the American Civil War. Origins William Sugars McLemore was born ten miles south of Franklin, Williamson County, Tennessee, on February 1, 1830, son of A. J. and Bethenia S. (Dabney) McLemore. He was of Scotch-Irish ancestry. His father was born in Williamson County in 1801, and died there in 1849. His mother was born in 1803 and died in 1857. Thomas Henry McLemore was an American politician who served as a Socialist member of the Oklahoma House of Representatives representing Beckham County between 1914 and 1916. He was one of the first third party candidates elected to the Oklahoma House of Representatives alongside fellow Socialist Party Representatives David C. Kirkpatrick, N. D.
