McWilliams Arroyo
McWilliams Arroyo Acevedo (born December 5, 1985) is a Puerto Rican professional boxer who has held the WBC interim flyweight title since February 2021. He previously challenged for the IBF flyweight title in 2014, and the WBC and ''Ring'' magazine flyweight titles in 2016. As an amateur, Arroyo represented Puerto Rico in numerous international events. As of June 2021, Arroyo is ranked as the world's sixth best flyweight by BoxRec and tenth best by The Ring. Early life McWilliams was born along his twin brother, McJoe, in the municipality of Ceiba in the northeast coastal region of Puerto Rico's main island. Their parents are Milagros Acevedo Hernández and José A. Arroyo Gelabert. Arroyo and his twin, were introduced to boxing in their childhood. Flyweight is a weight class in combat sports. Boxing Flyweight is a class in boxing which includes fighters weighing above 49 kg (108 lb) and up to 51 kg (112 lb). BoxRec or boxrec.com is a website dedicated to holding updated records of professional and amateur boxers, both male and female. It also maintains a MediaWiki-based encyclopaedia of boxing. The objective of the site is to document every professional boxer and boxing match from the instigation of the Queensberry Rules up to the present times. BoxRec publishes ratings for all active boxers and all time ratings. Since 2012 the site has hosted Barry Hugman's History of World Championship Boxing. Foundation The site was founded by John Sheppard, an Englishman. Valeriy Petrovych Sydorenko (born 23 September 1976) is a Ukrainian former amateur boxer. He competed for his native country at the 2000 Olympics and later won the 2000 European Amateur Boxing Championships. He is the twin brother of Volodymyr Sydorenko, who fought as a professional. Bato-Munko Demyanovich Vankeyev (russian: Бато-Мунко Демьянович Ванкеев; born 4 February 1977) is a boxer from Belarus. Vankeev qualified for the 2004 Summer Olympics by ending up in first place at the 2nd AIBA European 2004 Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Warsaw, Poland. Yoandris Salinas (born September 20, 1985) is a Cuban professional boxer from Ciego de Ávila best known to medal repeatedly at flyweight in international amateur tournaments. Amateur Salinas sensationally lost in 2005 to 16-year-old Rosniel Iglesias but beat Andry Laffita 2006 and 2007 at the National championships and therefore represented Cuba at the 2006 Central American and Caribbean Games where he lost the final (6:5) to Dominican Juan Carlos Payano.
