Alan Aylesworth Macnaughton, (July 30, 1903 – July 16, 1999) was a Canadians, Canadian Parliament of Canada, parliamentarian and Speaker of the House of Commons of Canada from 1963 to 1966. Macnaughton was born in Greater Napanee, Ontario, and educated at Upper Canada College. He studied law at McGill University (BCL 1929) and began a law practice in Montreal where he served as a Crown Attorney from 1933 to 1942. Donald McNaughton (New York Politician)
Donald McNaughton (March 29, 1830 Mumford, Monroe County, New York – July 30, 1893 Chicago, Illinois) was an American lawyer and politician from New York. Life He attended the district schools, and then became a millwright, and later a clerk. Then he studied law, was admitted to the bar, and practiced in Wheatland. He was Secretary and Treasurer of the Rochester and State Line Railroad. He was Supervisor of the Town of Wheatland for eight years; Chairman of the Board of Supervisors of Monroe County for one year; and a member of the New York State Senate (29th D.) from 1888 to 1891, sitting in the 111th, 112th, 113th and 114th New York State Legislatures. In 1892, he ran for Congress in the 31st District but was defeated by Republican John Van Voorhis. Margaret McNaughton
Margaret McNaughton was a Scottish Canadian author and historian. Her account of her husband's experiences travelling across Canada to the Cariboo gold fields was the second non-fiction book published by a woman in British Columbia. Born Margaret Peebles in 1856 to Thomas Peebles and his wife Jane Mackenzie Murie in Balmaghie Kirkcudbrightshire, Scotland, she came to British Columbia in 1888, and married Montreal-born Archibald McNaughton in New Westminster in 1890. The McNaughtons lived in Quesnel, where Archibald worked as a postmaster and Hudson's Bay Company official. Their only child died in childhood. She died in 1915 whilst on a visit to Los Angeles, California. Writing career McNaughton wrote the account of the 150-person, five-month expedition in 1896, covering Archibald's 1864 journey from Fort Garry, Manitoba, across the Rocky Mountains and into the Cariboo goldfields. Kevin Paul McNaughton (born 28 August 1982) is a Scottish professional football player and coach. A versatile player able to play anywhere in defence, McNaughton was also used in a defensive midfield role. He began his career in the Scottish Premier League, playing for Aberdeen for six years. He is known for his paintings depicting American conservative political figures, in particular prominent Republican Party (United States), Republicans, and Christian imagery. Gus McNaughton (29 July 1881 – 18 November 1969), also known as Augustus Le Clerq and Augustus Howard, was an English film actor. He appeared in 70 films between 1930 and 1947. He was born in London and died in Castor, Cambridgeshire. He is sometimes credited as Gus MacNaughton. Gordon Joseph McNaughton (July 31, 1910 – August 6, 1942) was a pitcher in Major League Baseball who played briefly for the Boston Red Sox during the 1932 season. Listed at 6' 1", 190 lb., Leheny batted and threw right-handed. A native of Chicago, Illinois, he attended Loyola University Chicago and Xavier University. In a six-game career, McNaughton posted a 0–1 record with a 6.43 ERA, including two starts, two games finished, 21 hits allowed, six strikeouts, 22 walks, and 21.0 innings of work. McNaughton died in his hometown of Chicago, Illinois at age 32 when he was shot in a hotel lobby by an ex-girlfriend. George Matthew McNaughton
Sir George Matthew McNaughton Companion of the Order of the Bath, CB (31 January 1893 – 31 August 1966) was a British civil engineer who specialised in hydraulic engineering. McNaughton was born in Dundee and received a degree in engineering from the University of St Andrews. He interrupted his studies to become an officer in the British Army during the First World War before he was forced to retire due to ill health. After the war he completed his degree and joined an engineering firm where his work included the Silent Valley Reservoir in Northern Ireland. In 1929 he entered government service at the Department of Health (United Kingdom), Ministry of Health and eventually became the ministry's Chief Engineer. His work was recognised by an appointment as a Companion of the Order of the Bath and a Knight Bachelor, knighthood.
