Kevin McNaughton
Kevin Paul McNaughton (born 28 August 1982) is a Scottish professional football player and coach. A versatile player able to play anywhere in defence, McNaughton was also used in a defensive midfield role. He began his career in the Scottish Premier League, playing for Aberdeen for six years. He joined Cardiff City in 2006, spending nine years at the Welsh side, making over 250 appearances. He had two loan spells at Bolton Wanderers before joining Wigan Athletic on a permanent basis in 2015. He retired from playing football in 2017, after a year with Inverness Caledonian Thistle, but reversed this decision in December 2017 after an injury crisis at Forfar Athletic, where he had joined as a coach the previous month. Colin McNaughton
Colin McNaughton (born 18 May 1951) is a British writer and illustrator of over seventy children's books. He is also a poet, focusing mainly on humorous children's poetry. He trained in graphic design at the Central School of Art and Design in London followed by an MA in illustration at the Royal College of Art. He lives in London. Childhood McNaughton was born in Wallsend, Northumberland in 1951, the son of a shipyard worker and a school dinner lady. As a child, there was little indication that he would become one of Britain's leading creators of children's picture books. There were no books at all in the family home, but there were always comics, his formative literature, and their slapstick humour has been a lasting influence. Paul McNaughton
Paul Peter Patrick McNaughton (18 November 1952 – November 2022) was an Irish rugby union, soccer and GAA player during the 1970s and 1980s. He was also manager of the Irish Rugby Team, a position he held from 2008 to 2011. He played rugby as a centre, with Leinster, Ireland, Chicago Lions, Los Angeles Rugby Club, Greystones and Wanderers. Although better known as a rugby player, he also played soccer for both Shelbourne and Bray Wanderers A.F.C. He is known for his paintings depicting American conservative political figures, in particular prominent Republican Party (United States), Republicans, and Christian imagery. He subsequently launched an anti-establishment artistic line advocating for a regime change. Career McNaughton is from Provo, Utah, and studied art at Brigham Young University. George Matthew McNaughton
Sir George Matthew McNaughton Companion of the Order of the Bath, CB (31 January 1893 – 31 August 1966) was a British civil engineer who specialised in hydraulic engineering. McNaughton was born in Dundee and received a degree in engineering from the University of St Andrews. He interrupted his studies to become an officer in the British Army during the First World War before he was forced to retire due to ill health. After the war he completed his degree and joined an engineering firm where his work included the Silent Valley Reservoir in Northern Ireland. In 1929 he entered government service at the Department of Health (United Kingdom), Ministry of Health and eventually became the ministry's Chief Engineer. His work was recognised by an appointment as a Companion of the Order of the Bath and a Knight Bachelor, knighthood. Duncan McNaughton
Duncan Anderson McNaughton (December 7, 1910 – January 15, 1998) was a Canadian athlete, who competed mainly in the high jump. He went on to a career in petroleum geology. Biography McNaughton was born in Cornwall, Ontario, and grew up in Vancouver, British Columbia. At the 1930 British Empire Games he finished fourth in the high jump event. He competed for Canada in the 1932 Summer Olympics, held in Los Angeles, United States, in the high jump where he won the gold medal. Bob Van Osdel, who took home the silver medal, was a close friend and teammate from the University of Southern California. Van Osdel helped coach McNaughton to his win during the final minutes of the competition. Gus McNaughton (29 July 1881 – 18 November 1969), also known as Augustus Le Clerq and Augustus Howard, was an English film actor. He appeared in 70 films between 1930 and 1947. He was born in London and died in Castor, Cambridgeshire. He is sometimes credited as Gus MacNaughton. He appeared on stage from 1899, as a juvenile comedian with the Fred Karno company, the influential British music hall troupe. Brian McNaughton (23 September 1935 – 13 May 2004) was an American writer of horror and fantasy fiction who mixed sex, satire and black humour. He also wrote thrillers. Biography Born at Red Bank, New Jersey, McNaughton attended Harvard and worked for ten years as a reporter for the ''Newark Evening News''. He later held a variety of other jobs, meanwhile publishing about two hundred short stories in magazines and several books. Several of his novels were first published by Carlyle Books under editorially imposed titles implying that they were part of a series. Margaret McNaughton
Margaret McNaughton was a Scottish Canadian author and historian. Her account of her husband's experiences travelling across Canada to the Cariboo gold fields was the second non-fiction book published by a woman in British Columbia. Born Margaret Peebles in 1856 to Thomas Peebles and his wife Jane Mackenzie Murie in Balmaghie Kirkcudbrightshire, Scotland, she came to British Columbia in 1888, and married Montreal-born Archibald McNaughton in New Westminster in 1890. The McNaughtons lived in Quesnel, where Archibald worked as a postmaster and Hudson's Bay Company official. Their only child died in childhood. She died in 1915 whilst on a visit to Los Angeles, California. Writing career McNaughton wrote the account of the 150-person, five-month expedition in 1896, covering Archibald's 1864 journey from Fort Garry, Manitoba, across the Rocky Mountains and into the Cariboo goldfields.
