Winfield Chester Scott McLure (16 March 1875 – 18 June 1955) was a Progressive Conservative party, National Government and Conservative member of the House of Commons of Canada. He was born in North Rustico, Prince Edward Island to a father who was a participant in the American Civil War (1861–1865). W. Chester S. McLure graduated with a teacher's certificate from Prince of Wales College and became a broker, salesman, men's clothing retailer, public school teacher and trader by career. For six years, he was a school principal at Gaytown and Alexandra. His interest in fox farming since 1911 led to research and a book with Dr. J. C. Allan titled ''Theory and Practice of Fox Farming''. McLure was elected to the Legislative Assembly of Prince Edward Island in 1923 as a Conservative candidate for the 5th Queens riding and re-elected there for a second term in 1927. James Miller McLure, Jr. (August 5, 1951 – February 17, 2011) was an American playwright. He was born in Alexandria, Louisiana and grew up in Shreveport where he was educated by the Jesuits. He became interested in acting in high school, performing in Shakespearean plays. He obtained a BFA degree from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas, and subsequently studied at the Pacific Conservatory of the Performing Arts in Santa Maria, California. While studying at SMU his roommate was actor and friend Stephen Tobolowsky, who frequently recalls stories involving McLure in his podcast. He moved to New York City in 1975 and was a member of the Lion Theatre Company. His plays ''Lone Star'' and ''Pvt. Wars'' were presented off-Broadway in 1979 after having been presented at the Humana Festival at the Actors Theatre of Louisville. James McLure (footballer)
James McLure (born 18 September 1974) is a former Australian rules footballer who played in three games for Geelong in the Australian Football League (AFL) in 1995. He was initially drafted to Collingwood in the AFL in the 1992 Mid Year Draft. He was delisted by Collingwood at the end of the 1993 season without having played a senior game. He was then recruited to Geelong with a pre-draft supplementary selection in the 1994 AFL Draft. He played in three games for Geelong in 1995, but was delisted at the end of the season. He then moved to South Australia where he played over 100 games for Woodville-West Torrens. He has completed a PhD in clinical pharmacology. John Thomas McLure (1889 – ?) was a college football and baseball player who served in the First World War.
