Alma Soller McLay
Alma Florence Soller McLay (December 28, 1919 – April 5, 2017) was a member of Robert H. Jackson's team that prosecuted Nazi war criminals at Nuremberg after World War II. Early life Alma Florence Soller was born in Narrowsburg, New York, the daughter of George David Soller (1879–1928) and Margaret Slater Soller (1892–1990). She was raised on her parents' chicken farm with three older siblings, William, George, and Beulah. She trained as a secretary before World War II. Nuremberg trials Soller began to work for the United States Department of Defense in 1941. At the end of World War II she met then U.S. Supreme Court Justice Robert H. Jackson, who asked her to join his team and document what would be the Nuremberg trials as transcriber, together with Elsie L. Douglas. Jackson's biographer, John Q. Cameron McLay is deputy mayor of Madison, Wisconsin. He was the Pittsburgh Police Chief beginning September 15, 2014. He announced his resignation during a press conference on November 4, 2016. His last day as chief was November 8, 2016. History of McLay's tenure McLay was formerly a consultant for the International Association of Chiefs of Police and was a former Police Captain in Madison, Wisconsin. McLay started his law enforcement career as an officer for Indiana University. Cameron McLay was hired as chief of the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police on September 15, 2014. He was hired to bring needed reforms to a police agency in turmoil. The preceding chief, Nathan Harper, had been indicted for corruption. Charles McLay
Charles McLay (circa 1860 – 2 May 1918) was a Scottish-born architect in Queensland, Australia. Some of his works are now heritage-listed. Architectural career After working for a number of years in the Public Works Department in the Queensland Government Architect's Office, McLay entered into a partnership with Henry Wallace Atkinson in 1906, trading as Atkinson and McLay. Other interests McLay joined the Naval Defence Force as a sub-lieutenant on 6 May 1898 and was promoted to lieutenant on 31 October 1901. He was commander when he was placed on the retired list of the Australian Naval Brigade on 15 January 1910. Following the resignation of Robin Dods, McLay was appointed Diocesan Architect to the Anglican Diocese of Brisbane in 1916; it passed to Atkinson after McLay's death in 1918. Colin McLay
Colin McLay (1942-2022) was a New Zealand marine biologist and carcinologist. Educated at the University of Otago and the University of British Columbia, he served as an Associate Professor of Marine Biology at the University of Canterbury. He discovered several species of crab, including ''Desmodromia tranterae'', ''Euryxanthops chiltoni'', ''Gandalfus puia,'' and ''Hirsutodynomene vespertilio''. He died on 3 December 2022. References

Daniel "Dan" McLay (born 3 January 1992) is a British racing cyclist, competing in road, track and cyclo-cross, who currently rides for UCI ProTeam . His first season as a professional was 2015, racing for French pro-continental and 2014 Tour de France wildcard outfit . Primarily a sprinter, McLay is also competent in the Flemish racing scene and has a particular affinity to the Northern Classics. He was named in the start list for the 2016 Tour de France. George McLay
George McLay MM (1889 – 22 October 1917) was a Scottish professional footballer who played in the Scottish League for Raith Rovers as a wing half. Personal life McLay served as a sergeant in McCrae's Battalion of the Royal Scots during the First World War and saw action at the Battle of the Somme. As McLay advanced near Poelcappelle during the Battle of Passchendaele on 22 October 1917, he became trapped in barbed wire and was shot multiple times, before being shot through the head. He was posthumously awarded the Military Medal for his actions. Jim McLay
Sir James Kenneth McLay (born 21 February 1945) is a New Zealand diplomat and former politician. He served as the ninth deputy prime minister of New Zealand from 15 March to 26 July 1984. McLay was also Leader of the National Party and Leader of the Opposition from 29 November 1984 to 26 March 1986. Following his ousting as party leader, he retired from parliamentary politics in 1987. In June 2009, he became New Zealand's Permanent Representative to the United Nations. In May 2015, McLay became New Zealand's Representative to the Palestinian Authority. McClay is a Scottish surname. It is a Highland’s adaption of the Irish Gaelic ''Mac Duinnshléibhe'' (Anglicised Donlevy) where the Scots aspirated the “D” and then dropped the final “e” from the Irish language form of the name. When the north-eastern Irish kingdom of Ulaid fell to John de Courcy in 1177, many of the MacDonlevy dynasty sought asylum in the Highlands of Scotland.
