Gerard McLarnon
Gerard McLarnon (16 April 1915 – 16 August 1997) was an English-Irish actor and playwright. Born in Clitheroe, Lancashire, England, he was raised in Northern Ireland. His plays have been performed throughout the world, including Ireland, the United Kingdom, Denmark and Australia. He collaborated with, amongst others, Sir John Tavener, Sir Tyrone Guthrie, and Lord Olivier. He had a long-standing creative relationship with theatre director Braham Murray, who directed all his work from 1967 to 1993 at the Century Theatre, the 69 Theatre Company and then the Royal Exchange in Manchester. McLarnon was survived by his wife, actress Eileen Essell, whom he wed in 1958; they had one child, a son, Fergus. Julie McLarnon
Julie McLarnon is a British recording engineer and record producer, known for working solely to analogue tape. Founder of Analogue Catalogue Studios, she has recorded albums for artists including the Vaselines, Lankum, Jeffrey Lewis, King Creosote, Duke Special and Alasdair Roberts. Early life Born in Manchester in 1971 to Irish parents, McLarnon started playing music at an early age, experimenting with 4 track recording and making effects pedals from the age of 14. At 16, she left school having been accepted onto the Recording Technology course at University College Salford run by Bill Leader. Career Early years Two years into the course she was offered the job of tape op at Strawberry Studios, Stockport where she trained under engineer Chris Nagle, in addition to assisting on sessions with Martin Hannett. Mike McLarnon
Mike McLarnon is a Canadian former politician, who represented the electoral district of Whitehorse Centre in the Yukon Legislative Assembly from 2000 to 2002. McLarnon was born and raised in Whitehorse, Yukon and operated several businesses in Whitehorse until assuming political office in the Yukon Legislature. While in office, he served as the Deputy Speaker of the Yukon Legislature and the Chair of the Committee of the Whole. He also served on the Standing Committee on Public Accounts on behalf of the Yukon. He was elected as a member of the Yukon Liberal Party in the 2000 election. In that election, he beat out the incumbent MLA Todd Hardy, who was the NDP candidate, and Vicky Durrant, the Yukon Party candidate, by a wide margin. However, in 2002 he was one of three MLAs, along with Wayne Jim and Don Roberts, who resigned from the Liberal Party caucus in 2002 to protest the leadership of Pat Duncan, effectively reducing Duncan's government to a minority.
