McFarlane Strait
McFarlane Strait is a strait lying between Greenwich Island and Livingston Island, in the South Shetland Islands off Antarctica. It is long and wide. The name appears on an 1822 chart by Captain George Powell, a British sealer, and is now well established in international usage. Ephraim Bluff
Ephraim Bluff is a 425 m ice-free bluff in the south of Breznik Heights, Greenwich Island in the South Shetland Islands, Antarctica. The bluff is linked to Razgrad Peak to the north-northeast and separates the termini of Wulfila Glacier to the northwest and Zheravna Glacier to the east. It surmounts Doris Cove on the northwest. The feature was charted and named 'Mount Ephraim' as early as 1820-22 by American sealers who used it as a lead mark for the nearby Yankee Harbour. Half Moon Island
Half Moon Island is a minor Antarctic island, lying in McFarlane Strait north of Burgas Peninsula, Livingston Island in the South Shetland Islands of the Antarctic Peninsula region. Its surface area is . The Argentine Cámara Base is located on the island. It is only accessible by sea and by helicopter; there is no airport of any kind. The naval base is operational occasionally during the summer, but is closed during the winter. Geography The island is a series of gravel bars (tombolos) connecting volcanic bedrock islands. The volcanism is not recent and may be millions of years old. The crescent shaped island may be the result of an eroded caldera similar to the much more recent Deception Island volcano complex. The parallel gravel bars are a result of post-glacial (isostatic) uplift of the area after the much larger Pleistocene ice cap melted and the pressure was released. Elemag Reef
Elemag Reef (Rif Elemag \'rif 'e-le-mag\) is the 100 m long in southeast-northwest direction and 40 m wide moraine reef in Moon Bay, Livingston Island in the South Shetland Islands, with a narrow shoal extending for over 400 m eastwards. Surface area 0.33 ha. Situated 5.4 km south-southwest of Edinburgh Hill, 5.95 km west of Half Moon Island, 5.18 km northwest of Rila Point, 3.3 km northeast of Zlatograd Rock and 1.85 km east-southeast of Sindel Point. Formed at the Glacier terminus, terminus of merging Struma Glacier, Struma and Huron Glaciers, it was originally named ''Elemag Point''. The current reef configuration is due to glacier retreat of up to 1.8 km in the area in the late 20th and early 21st century. Bulgarian mapping in 2009. Rugged Rocks
Rugged Rocks () is a small group of rocks at the west side of the south entrance to McFarlane Strait, lying just north of Renier Point, Burgas Peninsula on Livingston Island, in the South Shetland Islands. These rocks were known to early sealers in the area and appear on Powell's map of 1822. They were recharted in 1935 by DI personnel on the ''Discovery II ''Discovery II'', built in 1971, is the second of three Discovery sternwheel riverboats operated by the Riverboat Discovery company. Renier Point
Renier Point () is a narrow point forming the east extremity of both Burgas Peninsula and Livingston Island in the South Shetland Islands, Antarctica. The feature was known to sealers as Point Renier as early as 1821. The name ‘Pin Point’, given by Discovery Investigations personnel on the ''Discovery II'' in 1935, has been rejected in favor of the original name.
