Bill McChesney (born October 3, 1948) is an American politician and member of the Democratic Party who was a member of the Montana House of Representatives, representing District 40, from 2007 to 2015. Term-limited in 2014, he ran for the 19th District of the Montana Senate but was defeated by Republican incumbent Frederick Moore. Bill McChesney (athlete)
Bill McChesney, Jr. (January 8, 1959 - October 29, 1992) was an American long-distance runner from Eugene, Oregon. As of 2020, he is Oregon's record holder in the 5,000 meters. Running career He graduated from South Eugene High School and earned All-American honors in cross-country and track and field while attending the University of Oregon. He qualified for the 1980 U.S. Olympic team in the 5,000 meters but was unable to compete due to the 1980 Summer Olympics boycott. He did however receive one of 461 Congressional Gold Medals created especially for the spurned athletes. McChesney was ranked first in America and fourth in the world in the 5,000-meters during the 1981 season. Ernest McChesney (July 22, 1912 – July 25, 1991) was an American tenor who had an active singing career in operas, musicals, and concerts during the late 1920s through the early 1960s. He was notably a principal tenor with the New York City Opera from 1954 to 1960. Biography McChesney began his career as a teenager appearing in the ensembles of the original Broadway productions of ''My Maryland'' (1927) and ''The New Moon'' (1928). This was followed by a small supporting role in '' Princess Charming'' in 1930. His first major break came the following year when he became one of the featured performers in the Ziegfeld Follies.
