McCabe (surname)
The surnames McCabe ( ga, Mac Cába) and MacCabe( ) are Irish and Scottish surnames. McCabes are considered to have moved from the Western Isles of Scotland to Ireland sometime around 1350. McCabes are now found mostly in the United States, Ireland and the United Kingdom, Australia, South Africa, and New Zealand. Etymology McCabe and MacCabe are Anglicisations of the Gaelic ''Mac Cába'', a patronymic name meaning "son of ''Cába''". The surname can be written in modern Scottish Gaelic as ''MacCàba'' and ''MacCaibe''. The nickname or personal name ''Cába'' is of uncertain origin. Patrick Woulfe considered that the surname was possibly derived from a nickname, meaning "a cap", or "hood". Henry Harrison suggested the name was from the Gaelic ''Mac Aba'', meaning "son of the Abbot". If Harrison is to be believed then the surname would have a similar etymology as the surnames '' MacNab'', ''McNab'', which are from the Gaelic ''Mac an Aba'', ''Mac an Abadh''. McCabe Complexity
Cyclomatic complexity is a software metric used to indicate the complexity of a program. It is a quantitative measure of the number of linearly independent paths through a program's source code. It was developed by Thomas J. McCabe, Sr. in 1976. Cyclomatic complexity is computed using the control-flow graph of the program: the nodes of the graph correspond to indivisible groups of commands of a program, and a directed edge connects two nodes if the second command might be executed immediately after the first command. Cyclomatic complexity may also be applied to individual functions, modules, methods or classes within a program. One testing strategy, called basis path testing by McCabe who first proposed it, is to test each linearly independent path through the program; in this case, the number of test cases will equal the cyclomatic complexity of the program. Description Definition The cyclomatic complexity of a section of source code is the number of linearly independe ... McCabe–Thiele Method
The McCabe–Thiele method is a chemical engineering technique for the analysis of binary distillation. It uses the fact that the composition at each theoretical tray (or equilibrium stage) is completely determined by the mole fraction of one of the two components and is based on the assumption of constant molar overflow, which requires that: * the molar heats of vaporization of the feed components are equal; * for every mole of liquid vaporized, a mole of vapor is condensed; and * heat effects such as heat of solution are negligible. The method was first published by Warren L. McCabe and Ernest Thiele in 1925, both of whom were working at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) at the time. Construction and use A McCabe–Thiele diagram for the distillation of a binary feed is constructed using the vapor-liquid equilibrium (VLE) data for the lower-boiling component of the feed. On a planar graph, the horizontal (x) axis represents the mole fraction of the liqu ... [...More Info...]       [...Related Items...]     OR:     [Wikipedia]   [Google]   [Baidu]   |

McCabe-Powers Body Company
The McCabe-Powers Body Company was a producer of carriages and later of utility trucks and other motor vehicles. The company was founded in St. Louis, Missouri in 1877 by James H. McCabe and Thomas O'Farrell as "James H. McCabe and Thomas O'Farell, Carriage Builders". This eventually became the ''McCabe-Bierman Wagon Company'', and, from 1906 (after Edward J. Powers, Sr. had become a partner), the ''McCabe-Powers Carriage Company''. Originally producing horse-drawn wagons, the company later made motor-driven cars, specializing in hearses, passenger limos, delivery vehicles, utility vehicles, and producing military vehicles during World War II. A wagon produced by McCabe-Bierman was used in the 1904 World's Fair, winning a silver medal for design. This wagonette is now on display at the Missouri History Museum The Missouri History Museum in Forest Park, St. Louis, Missouri, showcases Missouri history. It is operated by the Missouri Historical Society, which was founded in 1 ... [...More Info...]       [...Related Items...]     OR:     [Wikipedia]   [Google]   [Baidu]   |
