"No Man's Land" (also known as "The Green Fields of France" or "Willie McBride") is a song written in 1976 by Scottish-born Australian folk singer-songwriter Eric Bogle, reflecting on the grave of a young man who died in World War I. Its chorus refers to two famous pieces of military music, "Last Post" and the " Flowers of the Forest". Its melody, its refrain ("did they beat the drum slowly, did they play the fife lowly"), and elements of its subject matter (a young man cut down in his prime) are similar to those of "Streets of Laredo", a North American cowboy ballad whose origins can be traced back to an 18th-century English ballad called " The Unfortunate Rake" and the Irish Ballad "Lock Hospital". Don McBride Stadium is a baseball park built in 1936 at the corner of Northwest 13th Street and Peacock Road in Richmond, Indiana, funded by the Works Progress Administration. The stadium was built to replace Exhibition Park which was destroyed by a fire in 1935. On June 13, 1984, it was named after Joseph Donald McBride, the former director of the Richmond Parks Department who oversaw development of the stadium. On June 4, 2010, the name was expanded to John Cate Field at Don McBride Stadium, honoring a former Richmond High School baseball coach. McBride Secondary is a public high school in McBride, part of School District 57 Prince George. History Overview Fraser School, which opened in 1913, was soon inadequate for the increasing student numbers. Construction of a new two-room schoolhouse began in 1916. Opened in 1917, the school comprised both elementary and high school grades. However, many students boarded in main centres elsewhere to attend larger high schools. The McBride school went to grade 11. Addressing a need, grade 12 was introduced using correspondence course material for 1939–1940. Assumedly in subsequent years, the more traditional methodology was used. McBride & the Ride is an American country music band consisting of Terry McBride (lead vocals, bass guitar), Ray Herndon (background vocals, guitars), and Billy Thomas (background vocals, drums). The group was founded in 1989 through the assistance of record producer Tony Brown. Sebree () is a home rule-class city in Webster County, Kentucky, in the United States. The population was 1,603 at the 2010 census. History Sebree was founded as a railroad town in 1868, just ahead of the arrival of the Louisville and Nashville Railroad in October. The town founders, William Scott and Col. E.G. Sebree, intended to name it Springdale after nearby natural springs, but the name was preëmpted by another community in Mason County. The post office was initially named McBride, but renamed for Col.
