Evan Hunter, born Salvatore Albert Lombino,(October 15, 1926 – July 6, 2005) was an American author and screenwriter best known for his 87th Precinct novels, written under his Ed McBain pen name, and the novel upon which the film ''Blackboard Jungle'' was based. Hunter, who legally adopted that name in 1952, also used the pen names John Abbott, Curt Cannon, Hunt Collins, Ezra Hannon, and Richard Marsten, among others. James Michael McBain (born February 25, 1988) is an American former professional ice hockey defenseman who played in the National Hockey League (NHL). McBain was born in Edina, Minnesota, but grew up in Faribault, Minnesota. He attended college at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Playing career McBain was drafted in the third round, 63rd overall, in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft by the Carolina Hurricanes. Lynn Carol McBain is a Canadian–New Zealand academic and specialised general practitioner, and is a full professor at the University of Otago, specialising in research on medical education, and primary health services.
