McBain (film)
''McBain'' is a 1991 American action war film written and directed by James Glickenhaus, and starring Christopher Walken as the title character, alongside Michael Ironside and María Conchita Alonso. Plot Santos (Chick Vennera) attempts to lead a people’s revolt in Colombia to overthrow the Presidente. When his revolt fails and he is killed, his sister Christina (María Conchita Alonso) goes to New York to find McBain (Christopher Walken), a lieutenant Santos rescued during the Vietnam War. McBain agrees to help, recruits his old war buddies, raises some cash by killing a few drug dealers, then leads an attack to topple the Colombian President (Victor Argo). James Glickenhaus
James Glickenhaus (born July 24, 1950) is an American film producer, financier, director and automotive entrepreneur. He is currently general partner of Glickenhaus & Co., a family partnership originally started by his father Seth Glickenhaus. Glickenhaus wrote, directed and produced a number of films in the 1980s and 1990s, including ''The Exterminator'' and the Jackie Chan vehicle '' The Protector''. In an interview from 2012, about his movie career, he explained his reasons for retiring from the movie business: "What happened at the end was that the studios had taken over everything. Bill Corbett
William Daniel Corbett (born March 30, 1960) is an American writer and performer for television, film and theatre. He was a writer and performer on the cult television show ''Mystery Science Theater 3000'' (''MST3K''), for which he voiced the robot Crow T. Robot during the show's later seasons on the Sci Fi Channel. During that time, he also played the character Observer, along with other minor roles. Career In addition to his work on Mystery Science Theater 3000, in 1991 he starred in the computer game '' Sherlock Holmes: Consulting Detective'', and in 2001, Corbett co-wrote the Sci Fi Channel miniseries '' The Adventures of Edward the Less'' with several other former ''MST3K'' writers. Kevin Wagner Murphy (born November 3, 1956) is an American actor and writer best known as the voice and puppeteer of Tom Servo on the Peabody Award-winning comedy series ''Mystery Science Theater 3000''. Murphy also records audio commentary tracks with Michael J. Nelson and Bill Corbett for Nelson's RiffTrax website. Biography Early career Murphy was born and raised in the Chicago suburb of River Forest, Illinois. After graduating from the University of Utah with a BA in journalism, he attended the University of Wisconsin–Madison, studying stage, film and television directing, and earned a Master of Arts degree. ''Mystery Science Theater 3000'' (abbreviated as ''MST3K'') is an American science fiction comedy film review television series created by Joel Hodgson. The show premiered on KTMA-TV (now WUCW) in Minneapolis, Minnesota, on November 24, 1988. It then moved to nationwide broadcast, first on The Comedy Channel/Comedy Central for seven seasons until its cancellation in 1996. Thereafter, it was picked up by The Sci-Fi Channel and aired for three more seasons until another cancellation in August 1999. A 60-episode syndication package titled ''The Mystery Science Theater Hour'' was produced in 1993 and broadcast on Comedy Central and syndicated to TV stations in 1995. RiffTrax is an American company that produces scripted humorous commentary tracks which are synced to mostly public domain feature films, education shorts, and television episodes. With the talents of former ''Mystery Science Theater 3000'' (''MST3K'') cast members and writers, RiffTrax also produces several live shows each year which are broadcast to movie theaters. The Blu-ray Disc (BD), often known simply as Blu-ray, is a digital optical disc data storage format. It was invented and developed in 2005 and released on June 20, 2006 worldwide.
