Mbarali
Mbarali District is one of the seven districts of Mbeya Region, Tanzania. It is bordered to the north by Iringa region and east by Njombe region. To the south the district is bordered by Mbeya Rural District and to the west by Chunya District. In 2016 the Tanzania National Bureau of Statistics report there were 331,206 people in the district, from 300,517 in 2012. Mbarali district is the most famous area for rice farming. The district is home to Kapunga rice project and Mbarali estate. The district hosts a very famous wetland called Ihefu, as well as the Usangu plain. Ruaha National Park is within the district to the north side. Mbeya Region
Mbeya Region (''Mkoa wa Mbeya'' in Swahili) is one of Tanzania's 31 administrative regions. The region covers an area of . The region is comparable in size to the combined land area of the nation state of Guinea Bissau. Mbeya Region is bordered to the east by Singida Region, Iringa Region and Njombe Region. The region is bordered to the south by Malawi and Lake Nyasa. To the north the region borders southern Tabora Region. Lastly, Mbeya is bordered to the west by Songwe Region. The regional capital is the city of Mbeya. According to the 2012 national census, the region had a population of 2,707,410. Geography Mbeya Region is located between latitudes 7 degrees and 9 degrees 31' south of the equator and between longitudes 32 degrees and 35 degrees east of Greenwich in Tanzania's Southern Highlands Zone. Igurusi
Igurusi is an administrative ward in the Mbarali district of the Mbeya Region of Tanzania. In 2016 the Tanzania National Bureau of Statistics report there were 24,573 people in the ward, from 22,296 in 2012. The ward is famous for rice farming and most of its residents depend from rice farming. The ward has nine villages which are; Chamoto, Igurusi, Ilolo, Lunwa, Lusese, Maendeleo, Majenje, Rwanyo and Uhambule. Igurusi is home to Ministry of Agriculture Training Institute ( MATI-Igurusi). The institution offers two diploma courses in land use and irrigation. Also there are eight primary schools and three secondary schools, which are Igurusi,Mshikamano and Haroun Pirmohamed. There is an international rice market within the ward. An ATM service is available for CRDB Bank within the market.
