Maïté Duval
Marie-Thérèse Marguerite Jeanne (Maïté) Duval (26 March 1944 – 2 November 2019) was a French-born Dutch people, Dutch sculptor and drafter. Life and work Maïté Duval was born on 26 March 1944 in Maïté Rijkhart de Voogd-Duval, Renazé (Mayenne, Pays de la Loire, France). She studied literature at the University of Rouen Normandy. In 1968 she moved to the Netherlands where she started her career as a self-taught sculptor in 1974. Her work was presented at many group and solo exhibitions, including those at Museum Henriette Polak (Zutphen, 1978 and 1996), Singer Museum (Laren, North Holland, 1983), Galerie Mia Joosten (Amsterdam, 1998), ''Beeldentuin Interart'' (Heeswijk, 1993–1999) and ''Den Haag Sculptuur'' (The Hague, 2003). Duval lived and worked in Zutphen, where she exhibited her works in her atelier and sculpture garden. Zutphen
Zutphen () is a city and municipality located in the province of Gelderland, Netherlands. It lies some northeast of Arnhem, on the eastern bank of the river IJssel at the point where it is joined by the Berkel. Lochem
Lochem () is a city and municipality in the province of Gelderland in the Eastern Netherlands. In 2005, it merged with the municipality of Gorssel, retaining the name of Lochem. Terborg
Terborg is a small city in the Dutch province of Gelderland, in the Achterhoek region in the east of the Netherlands. It is located in the municipality of Oude IJsselstreek. The city lies about 7 km southeast of Doetinchem. The population is about 4600 inhabitants. Terborg is situated on the river the Oude IJssel. Rhoon

According to its history it was established in 1199 and was ruled by the ''lords of Duiveland''. In the 14th century the village was struck by many floods. In the last big flood, the North Sea flood of 1953, the Dutch government implemented the "deltawerken" (Delta Works). This is a large protection barrier of dikes and dams to keep the water of the North Sea out during high tides.
