Overview The album name is derived from the surnames of Mina and the songwriter and singer Lucio Battisti, hence ''Mazzini canta Battisti''. This is also the first time in Mina's recording history that her surname appears on an album of hers. This is the second tribute album that Mina has recorded, the first being the 1975 album ''Minacantalucio''. In contrast to the album ''Minacantalucio'' which was composed of 10 new recordings of Lucio Battisti, this album contains only two new recordings, "Perché no" and "Il leone e la gallina". Mina Anna Maria Mazzini (born 25 March 1940) or Mina Anna Quaini (for the Swiss civil registry), known mononymously as Mina, is an Italian-Swiss singer and actress. ''Rane supreme'' is a studio album by Italian singer Mina, released on 17 October 1987 by PDU. Overview On the first volume of the album, Mina presents her interpretations of songs by other artists. Among them: "Nessun dolore" by Lucio Battisti, in this song the singer demonstrates her wide vocal range, "Sorry Seems to Be the Hardest Word" by Elton John and "Careless Whisper" by George Michael. The song "Gloria" was already recorded by Mina for the album '' Due note'' (1961). There are new songs on the second volume. Overview This album continues the joint soundtrack cycle with RAI for Paolo Frajese's program ''Trent'anni della nostra storia'' (Thirty Years of Our History), dedicated to the history of the broadcaster.
