Frank Moran (politician)
Francisco Moran (born October 20, 1968) is an American Democratic politician and former mayor of Camden, New Jersey. Early life and career Moran was born and raised in Camden and is a graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School. He is of Puerto Rican descent. His political career began in Camden when Milton Milan was elected mayor and Moran took his council member seat on the Third Ward by winning a special election. He won the seat by one hundred votes, defeating opponent Kirk Jones. In 1996, Moran described himself as grass roots and someone that the community can look up to and reach out to. During the council race, Moran was pressed on representing the black community in Camden. Moran responded with, "Like I tell people, I hear gunshots, you hear gunshots. Unless we come together, we're not going to stop the gunshots." Dana Redd
Dana L. Redd (born March 7, 1968) is an American Democratic politician who was the Mayor of Camden, from 2010 to 2018. Redd was in the New Jersey Senate from January 8, 2008, to January 5, 2010, representing the 5th Legislative District. Education Redd graduated from Bishop Eustace Preparatory School in 1986 and began full-time employment while attending college at night. She received a B.S. degree in Business from Rutgers University-Camden and attended the Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy (Principles of Redevelopment). She went on to earn a Master of Arts degree in Human Services Administration (MHSA) from Lincoln University (Pennsylvania). Gwendolyn Faison
Gwendolyn A. Faison (February 14, 1925 – July 10, 2021) was an American Democratic politician. Faison held the office of Mayor of Camden, New Jersey from 2000 to 2010. She was the city's first female mayor, as well as the first African-American woman to serve as president of the Camden City Council. Faison was first appointed when Milton Milan was convicted of corruption and forced to leave office in 2000. She had served as City Council President since 1997. Faison won re-election in 2001 and 2005. Under the State of New Jersey's recovery act for Camden, which expired in 2007, the Mayor's office had limited formal responsibilities for the first seven years of her tenure. Angelo Joseph Errichetti (September 29, 1928 – May 16, 2013) was an American Democratic Party politician who served as Mayor of Camden, New Jersey, and in the New Jersey Senate before being indicted during Abscam. Early life Angelo Joseph Errichetti grew up in poverty in Camden, the sixth of seven children of immigrants from Italy. His father, from Ruoti, Italy, worked stoking coal. The 5-foot, 9-inch Errichetti was a football standout at Camden High School and, after graduating went to West Nottingham Academy and briefly took night classes at Rutgers University. After working for a time in his brother's dry cleaning business and working in insurance, he enlisted in the United States Coast Guard. Victor Bernard King (born July 16, 1957) is an American former professional basketball player. He played collegiately for the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs, where he was a four-year starter and two-time All-Southland Conference selection during his final two seasons. He was selected by the Los Angeles Lakers as the 39th overall pick in the 1979 NBA draft but never played in the National Basketball Association (NBA).
