The Mayor of Brindisi is an elected politician who, along with the Brindisi's City Council, is accountable for the strategic government of Brindisi in Apulia, Italy. The current Mayor is Giuseppe Marchionna, a centre-right independent, who took office on 1 June 2023 and already held office from 1990 to 1992. Overview According to the Italian Constitution, the Mayor of Brindisi is member of the City Council. The Mayor is elected by the population of Brindisi, who also elects the members of the City Council, controlling the Mayor's policy guidelines and is able to enforce his resignation by a motion of no confidence. Giuseppe Marchionna (born 14 July 1953) is an Italian politician. A centre-right independent, he serves as Mayor of Brindisi since 2023, an office he previously held from 1990 to 1992. Biography A member of the Italian Socialist Party of Brindisi at a very young age, passionate about studies and research of an economic nature, over the years Marchionna has been involved in the elaboration of documents and publications focused on the development of the Brindisi area.
