Guyana Mayors Cup
The Guyana Mayors Cup is a major knockout regional football tournament in Guyana. It was created in 1999. It is an annual inter-ward/village Football Championship only open to invited teams. It takes place at the Georgetown Football Club ground, proposed alternate locations include Bourda, Mahaicony Community Centre, Victoria Community Centre and the Den Amstel Community Centre grounds. It is coordinated by former national football coach Lennox Arthur. It was originally between teams in Georgetown, but was expanded to invite teams throughout the country. The number of teams increased from 20 to 24 in 2016 The tournament planned for October 2020 was rescheduled due to COVID-19. Mayor's Cup (Missouri–South Carolina)
The Mayor's Cup is the football rivalry between the Missouri Tigers and the South Carolina Gamecocks. The two schools are 714 miles apart, however both school campuses are located in cities named Columbia. The two teams have met twelve times, and Missouri leads the series 8–5. The cup itself is a trophy awarded by the mayors of Columbia, South Carolina and Columbia, Missouri. Rensselaer–Union Men's Ice Hockey Rivalry
The Rensselaer–Union men's ice hockey rivalry is a college ice hockey rivalry between the RPI Engineers men's ice hockey and Union Garnet Chargers men's ice hockey programs. The first meeting between the two occurred on February 26, 1904. History Rensselaer was one of the first schools outside of the Ivy League to play varsity ice hockey, holing their first game during the 1901–02 season. Two years later, The Cherry and White met their capital district counterparts for the first time. Because neither program had an on-campus rink, the game was played at the Empire Rink in nearby Albany, New York. The converted curling venue wasn't well suited for ice hockey and only used sparingly by RPI. Both programs were forced to suspend operations over the next few years due to warm winters that prevented natural ice surfaces from being usable. The Union Dutchmen ice hockey team is a National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I men's college ice hockey program that represents Union College. The Dutchmen are a member of ECAC Hockey. They play at the Frank L. Messa Rink at Achilles Center in Schenectady, New York. The Dutchmen won the 2014 NCAA Division I Men's Ice Hockey Tournament by defeating the Minnesota Golden Gophers 7-4. History While Brown University, Brown had first played varsity ice hockey as far back as the 19th century, the team did not have any local facility and was forced to suspend operations for 20 years. In 1926, the Rhode Island Auditorium was built and enable the school to restart its program. The same year, Providence College began its ice hockey team, however, the new team lasted just one year before being mothballed. The Battle of I-10 is the name given to the New Mexico State–UTEP football rivalry. It is a college rivalry game between New Mexico State University (NMSU) and the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP). It is called the Battle of I-10 because the two universities are located along Interstate 10 connecting Las Cruces and El Paso. The teams compete for the Silver Spade Trophy and the Mayor's Cup.
