Maxim Brewery is a beer brewing company based in Houghton-le-Spring, United Kingdom. It was set up to rescue the famous Double Maxim beer, which had ceased production when the Vaux brewery was closed in 1999. In 2019 Maxim Brewery supported the making of a short film 'A passion for Vaux' celebrating Sunderland large but not forgotten brewery. In 2021, the new beers, Maverick and Medusa, were launched. Maksim I ''Skopljanac'' ( sr-cyrl, Максим I Скопљанац) (died 29 October 1680) was a Archbishop of Peć and Serbian Patriarch between 1655 and 1674. He lived in the Patriarchal Monastery of Peć In 1674, he resigned due to advanced age, and died in 1680. Metropolitan of Raška Maksim was born in Skopje, thus his nickname. He was serving as the Metropolitan of Raška when his forerunner, Gavrilo I, escaped to Russia fearing Ottoman reprisals for the contacts he held with Sultan's Catholic enemies. Soon Gavrilo I announced that he does not intend to return and that a new patriarch should be chosen. It is, however, not sure if this was his or the initiative of the High Porte. Patriarch Maxim (Maximus) ( bg, Патриарх Максим) (Marin Naydenov Minkov, October 29, 1914 – November 6, 2012) was the head of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church from 1971 until his death. He was born in Oreshak, the second of the two children of Nayden Minkov Rachev and Pena Bordzhukova, but very little is known about his parents' background. He was educated only in his native mountain village of Oreshak but from his late childhood, he became a novice monk in the Troyan Monastery and then studied Orthodox Theology at Sofia University, from which he graduated in 1935 with honours. In 1942 he graduated from the Saint Clement of Ochrid State University of Sofia. He took Holy Orders in 1941 and became secretary general of the Holy Synod in 1955 and titular bishop of ''Branit'' on December 30, 1956.
