Zemfira Talgatovna Ramazanova (russian: Земфира Талгатовна Рамазанова, tt-Cyrl, Земфира Тәлгать кызы Рамазанова; born 26 August 1976) is a Russian rock musician. She has been performing since 1998 and has been popular in Russia and other former Soviet republics. To date Zemfira has sold over 3 million records. Radio Maximum is a Russian radio station, specializing in pop and rock music. Maximum was founded in 1991 as a joint venture of Westwood One, Harris Corporation, StoryFirst Communications, and The Moscow News weekly. It started broadcasting in Moscow on December 25, 1991 on the frequency of 103.7 MHz. Broadcasting in St. Petersburg commenced in early 1993. The radiostation was among the first Russian music stations to start round the clock broadcasting in 1994. Maximum's format is broad, and includes both western and Russian rock and pop music. The station is popular, with a successful morning show, which at different times was hosted by such celebrities as Olga Maximova, Kostya Mikhalov, Gennady Bachinsky and Sergey Stillavin. Voskreseniye
Voskreseniye (russian: Воскресение) is a Russian rock band. History The band was formed in 1979, when drummer Sergey Kavagoe decided to leave Mashina Vremeni and form his own group. Kavagoe was joined by Mashina Vremeni's bassist, Evgeny Margulis. Alexey Romanov became the group's leader and songwriter, and Alexey Makarevich joined as guitarist. During this period the band released the successful albums ''Voskreseniye 1'' () and ''Voskreseniye 2'' (). In 1980, Margulis left the group, after being invited to join the group Araks, and Konstantin Nikolsky, Andrey Sapunov, and Mikhail Shevyakov joined the line-up. In August 1982, Romanov and the group's sound engineer, Alexander Arutyunov, were arrested and charged with private entrepreneurial activity. The band went on a hiatus from 1982 to 1994, and former members played in several other groups. Bi-2 (russian: Би-2 ''Bi-dva'') is a Belarusian alternative rock band, formed in the 1980s in Bobruisk, Belarus. It was one of the most successful with many sales and chart-hits in Russia. Bi-2 was awarded MTV Russian Music Awards for Best Rock Act in 2007. History Early history The band was formed in 1985 in Minsk, Belarus, by two teenagers, Aleksandr "Shura" Uman and Egor "Lyova" Bortnik, who were amateur actors. Initially, the band's name was "Bratya po Oruzhiyu" (Brothers in Arms), which was formed in 1988, then "Bereg Istini" (Shore of Truth), which resulted in abbreviation BI-2. Pilot, also known as PilOt (russian: Пилот, ПилОт) is a Russian rock band from Saint Petersburg, founded by Ilja Knabengof in 1997. History The roots of the band stretch back to 1994, at which point it was called Military Jane. In this incarnation, the band had a raw, melodic grunge style reminiscent of Alice In Chains, and featured Knabengof singing in English. Military Jane released three albums, "Home" (1995) "Home Live '95", and "Blackest Paint Colored Brush" (1996) with limited success. The band's single "Wherry?" although popular, was met with controversy and the music video was banned from MTV. During the "Rock '96" festival in Saint Petersburg, the band performed a new song "Мама" (Mama) for the first time.
