Max Rössler
Max Rössler (born 1940) is a Swiss investor and philanthropist that has invested in a number of businesses in Switzerland and sits on the board of a number of those companies. He has used his private wealth to donate to a number of causes including sponsoring the annual Rössler Prize at his old alma mater. Early life and education Rössler attended the Kantonsschule at Burggraben in St. Gallen, where he finished his matriculation. He then studied mathematics at ETH Zurich, where he co-authored a dissertation on railway computations in the field of space mechanics in 1966 with Eduard Stiefel. He then spent time at Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts, for a NASA research project to calculate space travel. An academy (Attic Greek: Ἀκαδήμεια; Koine Greek Ἀκαδημία) is an institution of secondary or tertiary higher learning (and generally also research or honorary membership). The name traces back to Plato's school of philosophy, founded approximately 385 BC at Akademia, a sanctuary of Athena, the goddess of wisdom and skill, north of Athens, Greece. Walter Haefner
Walter Haefner (13 September 1910 – 19 June 2012) was a Swiss businessman and a thoroughbred racehorse owner and breeder in Ireland. As a young man Haefner went to work in the auto industry as an employee of the Swiss division of General Motors Corporation. He eventually moved to England where he acquired an automobile franchise before returning home to open a Volkswagen dealership. Recognizing the important role a computer could play in his growing chain of dealerships, in 1957 Haefner became one of the first in Switzerland to import an IBM system for business use. This led to his 1964 creation of Automation Center A.G., a computer services company in Zurich. Reichmuth & Co is a Swiss private bank that was founded in Luzern, Switzerland, in 1988. It was the first private bank created in Switzerland in 80 years. Its general partners are Karl Reichmuth (President, since 1996), Christof Reichmuth (CEO and CIO; Karl Reichmuth's son), and Juerg Staub.
