Heavy Metal Music
Heavy metal (or simply metal) is a Music genre, genre of rock music that developed in the late 1960s and early 1970s, largely in the United Kingdom and United States. With roots in blues rock, psychedelic rock and acid rock, heavy metal bands developed a thick, monumental sound characterized by distortion (music), distorted guitars, extended guitar solos, emphatic Beat (music), beats and loudness. In 1968, three of the genre's most famous pioneers – British bands Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath and Deep Purple – were founded. Though they came to attract wide audiences, they were often derided by critics. Several American bands modified heavy metal into more accessible forms during the 1970s: the raw, sleazy sound and shock rock of Alice Cooper and Kiss (band), Kiss; the blues-rooted rock of Aerosmith; and the flashy guitar leads and party rock of Van Halen. During the mid-1970s, Judas Priest helped spur the genre's evolution by discarding much of its blues influence,Walser (1 ...

Bark At The Moon
''Bark at the Moon'' is the third studio album by English heavy metal singer Ozzy Osbourne, released in 14 November 1983 in the US and on 2 December 1983 in the UK. The album marks Ozzy's change to a synth infused pop-metal sound, with both its "sonic production, and in Ozzy's imaging". A commercial success, ''Bark at the Moon'' peaked at number 19 on the ''Billboard'' album chart and within several weeks of release was certified gold for over 500,000 sales in the United States. By 2000, it had sold over 3,000,000 copies in the United States. In the UK, it was the third of four Osbourne albums to attain silver certification (60,000 units sold) by the British Phonographic Industry, achieving this in January 1984. The album was remastered on CD in 1995 and again (with a different mix) in 2002. This is Osbourne's first album to feature guitarist Jake E. Lee and only studio album to feature drummer Tommy Aldridge. Overview ''Bark at the Moon'' is the only Ozzy Osbourne album on ...

Grim Reaper (band)
Grim Reaper were a British heavy metal band from the new wave of British heavy metal era. The band was formed in 1979 in Droitwich, Worcestershire, by guitarist Nick Bowcott. There were numerous lineup changes over the years, with frontman Steve Grimmett being the longest running member, from 1982 to 1988, then 2006 until his death in 2022. They are best known for several of their 1980s songs, including the respective title tracks from their first three albums: '' See You in Hell'' (1983), '' Fear No Evil'' (1985) and '' Rock You to Hell'' (1987); each of those songs gained notoriety in the 1990s for appearing on ''Beavis and Butt-Head''. After disbanding in 1988, the band reformed in 2006 around Grimmett, but due to legal issues surrounding the rights to the original band name, they went by Steve Grimmett's Grim Reaper. Two albums under that name – ''Walking in the Shadows'' (2016) and ''At the Gates'' (2019) – were released before Grimmett died in 2022, after which the ba ...

Power Of The Night
''Power of the Night'' is the second studio album by the American heavy metal band Savatage, released in 1985. This record was produced by Max Norman, who later went on to produce Megadeth's 1992 hit album ''Countdown to Extinction''. The record was not originally pressed with a Parental Advisory sticker on the cover. However, Atlantic Records did have a problem with some of the sexual metaphors mentioned in "Hard for Love" and "Skull Session." It was also a marketing ploy to encourage more people to buy the record as a result of it being "banned" by some outlets. This was bassist Keith Collins's last album with the band. Jon and Criss Oliva were not completely happy with Collins' playing and corrected some of his mistakes for the final version. Collins was replaced by Johnny Lee Middleton in 1986. Track listing Personnel ;Savatage *Jon Oliva – vocals, keyboards *Criss Oliva – guitars *Keith Collins – bass * Steve Wacholz – drums ;Production *Max Norman ...

Savatage

The band was first called Avatar, but, shortly before the release of their debut album '' Sirens'' (1983), they changed their name to Savatage, as Avatar was already taken by at least one other band. Savatage is considered to be an integral part of the American heavy metal movement of the early-to-mid-1980s and has been cited as a key influence on numerous subgenres of metal. The band has released eleven studio albums, two live albums, five compilations and three EPs. For their fourth album '' Hall of the Mountain King'' (1987), Savatage teamed up with producer/songwriter Paul O'Neil. The band's success continued with the albums '' Gutter Ballet'' (1989) and '' Streets: A Rock Opera'' (1991), both of whic ...

All Of The Good Ones Are Taken
''All of the Good Ones Are Taken'' is the sixth solo studio album by Ian Hunter. The album contains a mix of several styles. Longtime collaborator Mick Ronson was mostly absent (he only played guitar on one track), because he was seriously considering quitting the music business. In 2007, the album was reissued with a single bonus track. In a recent biography Ian Hunter explained that the song "Death 'n' Glory Boys" was inspired by the then-current Falklands War. Also, "Somethin's Goin' On" reflects Hunter's reaction to the Nuclear arms race. "Speechless" was later covered by Status Quo. "Every Step of the Way" was also later covered by The Monkees on their reunion album '' Pool It!'' (1987).
