MaveriX
''MaveriX'' is an Television in Australia, Australian drama TV series aimed at children and young teenagers which premiered on ABC Me on 1 April 2022. The series follows the story of a group of junior motocross riders who are selected for the first ever MaveriX Academy in Alice Springs, the home of dirtbike racing in Australia. The six teens are pushed to their limits, and the academy ultimately gives them the chance to join a professional racing team. Production MaveriX is written by Sam Meikle, Fin Edquist, Michelle Offen and Kelly Schilling. The 10-part series is produced by Rachel Clements and Trisha Morton-Thomas at Brindle Films. The executive producers are Bernadette O’Mahony and creators Rachel Clements, Sam Meikle and Isaac Elliott. MaveriX was filmed in Alice Springs in 2021. Trisha Morton-Thomas
Trisha Morton-Thomas, also known as Patricia Morton-Thomas, is an Anmatyerr woman born in the Northern Territory of Australia. She is a writer, producer, director and actor who has worked in the Australian film industry since 1998 when she appeared in ''Radiance'', the first feature film by director Rachel Perkins. Career Morton-Thomas grew up in Alice Springs and the remote Northern Territory. She started her career at the Central Australian Aboriginal Media Association (CAAMA) in 1983, where she worked as a volunteer radio announcer and later as a cadet journalist until 1990 when she moved to Darwin to work with the Australian Broadcasting Corporation there. In 1991 Morton-Thomas moved to Sydney with her good friend Rachel Perkins, who, she says, "dragged me along with her". Rohan Nichol (born 4 July 1976) is an Australian television and film actor. His roles include Raymus Antilles in '' Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith'', Aaron Collingwood in '' All Saints'', and Detective Luc Palermo in ''headLand''. From June 2017, he began playing Ben Astoni in the television soap opera ''Home and Away''. Early and personal life Nichol was born and raised in Geraldton. Alice Springs ( aer, Mparntwe) is the third-largest town in the Northern Territory of Australia. Known as Stuart until 31 August 1933, the name Alice Springs was given by surveyor William Whitfield Mills after Alice, Lady Todd (''née'' Alice Gillam Bell), wife of the telegraph pioneer Sir Charles Todd. ABC Me (stylised as ABC ME) is an Australian English language children's free-to-air television channel owned by the Australian Broadcasting Corporation. It was officially launched by Prime Minister Kevin Rudd on 4 December 2009 as ABC3. Motocross is a form of off-road motorcycle racing held on enclosed off-road circuits. The sport evolved from motorcycle trials competitions held in the United Kingdom.
