Mauro Javier dos Santos (born 7 July 1989), known as Mauro dos Santos, is an Argentine footballer who plays as a defender for CD El Ejido in the Segunda Federación. Club career Born in Santo Tomé, Mauro graduated from Banfield's youth setup, and made his professional debut on 22 June 2008, in a 2–3 away defeat against River Plate. He was handed his first start on 26 October, in a 0–0 draw at Gimnasia LP. After more than three full seasons with Banfield, Mauro moved abroad, signing a one-year deal with Real Murcia. He made his debut for the club on 21 August 2012, against Córdoba CF. On 24 July of the following year, Mauro renewed his link with the ''Pimentoneros'' for a further year, and scored his first professional goal on 29 September, the first of a 2–1 home win against CD Numancia. Santo Tomé is a city in the province of Corrientes in the Argentine Mesopotamia. It had about 22,634 inhabitants at the . It is the head town of the department of the same name. The 2008-09 Primera División season was the 118th season of top-flight professional football in Argentina and the nineteenth season in which the Apertura and Clausura system is used. Boca Juniors won the Apertura championship for their 29th national title after a three team playoff with Tigre and San Lorenzo. The Clausura championship was won by Vélez Sársfield for their 7th national title. Gimnasia y Esgrima (J) and San Martín (T) were relegated to the Primera B Nacional. Format The format for the 2008-09 season remained unchanged. The season was split into two tournaments called Apertura and Clausura. 2022–23 Segunda Federación
The 2022–23 Segunda Federación season will be the second for the Segunda Federación, the new fourth highest level in the Spanish football league system. Ninety teams will participate, divided into five groups of eighteen clubs each based on geographical proximity. In each group, the champions automatically promoted to Primera Federación, and the second to fifth placers will play promotion play-offs. The last five teams in each group will be relegated to the Tercera Federación; in addition, the four worst teams classified 13th in their group will play play-offs to define the last two relegation places. The I-League (known as Hero I-League for sponsorship ties with Hero MotoCorp) is the second-tier men's professional football competition of the Indian football league system.
