Maurizio Turone
Maurizio Turone (born 27 October 1948 in Varazze) is a retired Italian professional footballer, who played as a defender, usually as a sweeper. Career He played for 10 seasons (227 games, 4 goals) in the Serie A for A.C. Milan, F.C. Catanzaro and A.S. Roma. He is most famous for the so-called Turone's goal. The goal he scored in a crucial league game against league-leading Juventus F.C. for second-placed A.S. Roma was disallowed as the linesman ruled he was offside. The game ended 0–0 and Juventus eventually clinched the title. The TV images never clarified, in a definitive way, if the player's position was irregular or not. In the following years, conflicting opinions, projections with new technologies and alleged manipulation of slow motion continued to come in succession; in any case, from then on, the " Turone's goal" remained a hot topic in Italian football for decades to come. Varazze
Varazze (; lij, Väze) is a ''comune'' (municipality) in the Province of Savona in the Italian region of Liguria, located about west of Genoa and about northeast of Savona in the Riviera di Ponente. Nearby in the Ligurian Apennines is the Monte Beigua with its Natural Regional Park. Economy is predominantly based on the shipyards, yachting and tourism. The ("Italy Cup") is an annual knockout cup competition in Italian football organized by the FIGC until the 2009–10 season and the Lega Serie A ever since. History The beginning of the tournament was turbulent, due to the complexity of the participation of the teams in the tournament, since its inception in 1921, the Italian championship was divided into two groups. UEFA Cup Winners' Cup
The UEFA Cup Winners' Cup was a European football club competition contested annually by the winners of domestic cup competitions. The cup was, chronologically, the second seasonal inter-European club competition organised by UEFA. The tournament ran for 39 seasons, with the final edition held in 1998–99, after which it was discontinued. The first tournament was held in 1960–61, but it was organised by the Mitropa Cup's Organising Committee and not recognised by the governing body of European football until 1963, when it was accepted as a UEFA competition on the initiative of the Italian Football Federation (FIGC). Slow Motion
Slow motion (commonly abbreviated as slo-mo or slow-mo) is an effect in film-making whereby time appears to be slowed down. It was invented by the Austrian priest August Musger in the early 20th century. This can be accomplished through the use of high-speed cameras and then playing the footage produced by such cameras at a normal rate like 30 fps, or in post production through the use of software. Typically this style is achieved when each film frame is captured at a rate much faster than it will be played back. When replayed at normal speed, time appears to be moving more slowly. A term for creating slow motion film is overcranking which refers to hand cranking an early camera at a faster rate than normal (i.e. faster than 24 frames per second).
