Maurice Shanley
Maurice Shanley (born 14 September 1999) is an Irish Gaelic footballer who plays for Premier Senior Championship club Clonakilty and at inter-county level with the Cork senior football team. He usually lines out as a full-back. Playing career Cork Shanley first lined out for Cork when he was drafted onto the Cork under-20 team for the 2018 Munster Under-20 Championship. He made his first appearance for the team on 16 June 2018 when he played at midfield in the 1–20 to 0–08 defeat of Tipperary. He was switched to right wing-forward for the subsequent 3–11 to 0–14 defeat by Kerry in the Munster final. Once again eligible for the under-20 the following year, Shanley won a Munster Under-20 Championship medal on 18 July 2019 after being selected at full-back in the 3–16 to 0–12 defeat of Kerry in the final. Clonakilty, County Cork
Clonakilty (; ), sometimes shortened to Clon, is a town in County Cork, Ireland. The town is located at the head of the tidal Clonakilty Bay. The rural hinterland is used mainly for dairy farming. 2019 All-Ireland Under-20 Football Championship
The 2019 All-Ireland Under-20 Football Championship was the second staging of the All-Ireland Under-20 Championship and the 56th staging overall of a Gaelic football championship for players between the minor and senior grades. The championship began on 22 June 2019 and ended on 3 August 2019. Kildare entered the championship as the defending champions, however, they were beaten by Laois in the Leinster Championship. The All-Ireland final was played on 3 August 2019 at O'Moore Park in Portlaoise, between Cork and Dublin, in what was their first meeting in a final in 39 years. Cork won the match by 3-16 to 1-14 to claim their 12th championship title overall and a first title since 2009. Dublin's Ciarán Archer was the championship's top scorer with 9-35. 2020 National Football League (Ireland)
The 2020 National Football League, known for sponsorship reasons as the Allianz National Football League, is the 89th staging of the National Football League (NFL), an annual Gaelic football tournament for Gaelic Athletic Association county teams. Thirty-one county teams from the island of Ireland, plus London, compete. Kilkenny do not participate. The league was originally scheduled to end in March 2020, but the public health measures introduced to combat the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic resulted in the final two league rounds being delayed to October. 2020 McGrath Cup
The 2020 McGrath Cup is inter-county Gaelic football competition in the province of Munster, played by all six county teams. It was won by Limerick, who won their first Cup since 2005. Format The teams are drawn into two groups of three teams. Each team plays the other teams in its group once, earning 2 points for a win and 1 for a draw. The two group winners play in the final. If the final is a draw, a penalty shoot-out is used to decide the winner; there is no extra time played.
