Maurice Rosy
Maurice Rosy (17 November 1927 – 23 February 2013), was a Belgian comics writer who also worked as artistic director of '' Spirou'' magazine during its golden period. Biography Rosy was born in Fontaine-l'Évêque. He was employed by Charles Dupuis in 1954 as "giver of ideas" at the Franco-Belgian comics magazine '' Spirou''. Two years later he assumed the position of artistic director, which he remained until 1971. Along with Yvan Delporte, he is credited with responsibility of the magazine's success during the 1950s and 1960s. In the early 1950s he wrote scenarios for André Franquin's series ''Spirou et Fantasio'', and Jijé's ''Jerry Spring'', before he took over the writing of ''Tif et Tondu'' from Luc Bermar, collaborating with Will over a period of thirteen years. Éditions Dupuis S.A. () is a Belgium, Belgian publisher of comic albums and magazines. Based in Marcinelle near Charleroi, Dupuis was founded in 1922 by Jean Dupuis, and is mostly famous for its comic comics album, albums and magazines. It is originally a French language publisher, but publishes many editions both in French and Dutch language, Dutch. Other language editions are mostly licensed to other publishers. Dupuis was for a long time a family business but was sold in the early 1980s and has since changed ownership a few times. ''Les pirates du silence'', written and drawn by Franquin, is the tenth album of the ''Spirou et Fantasio'' series. The title story, and another, ''La Quick Super'', were serialised in '' Spirou'' magazine before both were published in one hardcover album in 1958. Story In ''The Pirates of Silence'', Fantasio gets an assignment from ''Le Moustique'' to write a story about Incognito City, a highly modernized city inhabited by wealthy celebrities and where security is tight and photography strictly forbidden. Attila (comics)
Attila (, ; ), frequently called Attila the Hun, was the ruler of the Huns from 434 until his death in March 453. He was also the leader of a tribal empire consisting of Huns, Ostrogoths, Alans, and Bulgars, among others, in Central and Eastern Europe. During his reign, he was one of the most feared enemies of the Western and Eastern Roman Empires. He crossed the Danube twice and plundered the Balkans, but was unable to take Constantinople. His unsuccessful campaign in Persia was followed in 441 by an invasion of the Eastern Roman (Byzantine) Empire, the success of which emboldened Attila to invade the West. He also attempted to conquer Roman Gaul (modern France), crossing the Rhine in 451 and marching as far as Aurelianum (Orléans), before being stopped in the Battle of the Catalaunian Plains. Paul Deliège
Paul Deliège (21 January 1931 – 7 July 2005) was a Belgian artist and writer of comics. He is most famous for his series '' Bobo''. Biography Deliège was born in Olne. He started in the daily '' Le Soir'' with ''Père Bricole et Félicien et les Romanis''. In 1959, he got into éditions Dupuis where he launched ''les aventures de Théophile et Philibert'' with Vicq. at the start of the 1960s, he was the principal creator of the ''Mini-récits'' (mini-stories) in the magazine Spirou, where he created '' Bobo'', his best-known hero. ''Boule et Bill'' (known in English as ''Billy & Buddy'') is a popular comic, created in 1959 by Belgian writer-artist Jean Roba in collaboration with Maurice Rosy. In 2003, the artistic responsibility of the series was passed on to Roba's former assistant Laurent Verron. The stories center on a typical family: a man and his wife, their young son Boule and Bill the cocker spaniel. Jean Roba (28 July 1930 – 14 June 2006) was a Belgian comics author from the Marcinelle school. His best-known work is ''Boule et Bill''.
