Maurice Johnson (ca. 1480–1551) was MP for Stamford and a prominent member of society in Stamford, Lincolnshire in the 16th century, serving in three consecutive parliaments of England. Maurice Johnson (1688–1755), of Spalding, was the founder of 'The Gentlemen's Society' ( Spalding Gentlemen's Society). Johnson was educated at Spalding Grammar School. He studied law. In 1717 he assisted in the re-establishment of the Society of Antiquitaries ( Society of Antiquaries of London). He invited William Stukeley to join the society. Maurice Johnson (Canadian Politician)
Paul Léo Maurice Johnson (born 17 January 1929) was a Progressive Conservative party member of the House of Commons of Canada. He was a lawyer by career. Maurice Johnson was first elected at the Chambly—Rouville riding in the 1958 general election and was a government member in John Diefenbaker's administration. He was defeated after one term of office by Bernard Pilon of the Liberal party in the 1962 election. Johnson voted against his government on a measure which limited capital punishment to cases of intentional or premeditated murder. Previously, the death penalty could apply to all forms of murder convictions. These revisions to the Criminal Code concerned Johnson who felt that this decision would lead to elimination of the death penalty. Morris Lynn Johnson is a Kentucky-born criminal, whose crimes include armed robbery, escape and rescue, bank robbery (with assault), and assaulting a police officer. He was briefly listed on the FBI's Ten Most Wanted list in 1976. Early life Morris Johnson was raised on a small farm outside Tompkinsville, Kentucky until his family moved to 4802 Beecher St. in the Drexel Gardens neighborhood of Indianapolis. Johnson's father Armer Johnson was a factory worker, and his mother Delcie Johnson was a short-order cook. Johnson had six siblings. Robbery Inc. According to Indianapolis media accounts, by the age of 24 (1962) Johnson was the leader of one of the most notorious band of bank bandits since the days of John Dillinger. Also, it was alleged that by 1963 Johnson's gang, dubbed "Robbery Inc." by Indianapolis police, had grown to around 100 members and was believed to be responsible for nearly 3,400 crimes between the years 1958 and 1963.
