Maurice Benard
Maurice Benard (born March 1, 1963) is an American actor. In 1993, he was cast as Sonny Corinthos on the ABC soap opera ''General Hospital''. Early life and career Benard was born Mauricio José Morales in Martinez, California, the son of Martha, a bank employee, and Humberto Morales, a bakery superintendent. He grew up in San Francisco, California, and is of Nicaraguan ancestry. He started his acting career as Nico on the soap opera ''All My Children'', from 1987 to 1990. He then began appearing on ''General Hospital'', a daytime soap opera on ABC. His role on the show was the fictionalized Sonny Corinthos, a manic depressive mobster King pin. His first air date on ''GH'' was August 13, 1993. ''Mi Vida Loca'' (also known as ''My Crazy Life'') is a 1993 American drama film directed and written by Allison Anders. It centers on the plight of cholas (the female counterparts to cholos) growing up in the Echo Park section of Los Angeles, who face the struggles of friendship, romantic entanglements, motherhood, and gang membership. DEA (1990 TV Series)
''D.E.A.'' is an American drama series which was aired on Fox as part of its 1990-91 lineup. ''D.E.A.'' was based on true stories of the Drug Enforcement Administration. Shot in ''cinéma vérité'' style, the program combined recreated scenes using actors with actual surveillance footage and film of actual newscasts covering the stories depicted. Fox apparently had considerable confidence in this concept. When the initial version garnered low ratings and was put on hiatus, before its return the program was retooled into ''DEA—Special Task Force'', which placed more emphasis on the agents' personal lives and showed less graphic violence.
