Maung Maung Kyaw
General Maung Maung Kyaw ( my, မောင်မောင်ကျော်, born 23 July 1964) is a Burmese military officer who served on Myanmar's State Administration Council from 2021 to 2023. He previously served as Commander-in-Chief of the Myanmar Air Force from 2018 to 2022. Early life and education Maung Maung Kyaw was born on 23 July 1964. He graduated from the Defence Services Academy in 1985 as part of the 26th intake. Military career Maung Maung Kyaw trained as a fighter pilot. He was promoted to Commander-in-Chief of the Myanmar Air Force on 2 January 2018, after his predecessor Khin Maung Myint reached the mandatory retirement age. Subsequently, he was appointed as a members of the SAC on 2 February 2021, in the aftermath of the 2021 Myanmar coup d'état. He was forced to retire as Air Force Commander in January 2022. The State Administration Council ( my, နိုင်ငံတော်စီမံအုပ်ချုပ်ရေးကောင်စီ; abbreviated SAC or နစက) is the military junta currently governing Myanmar, established by Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Min Aung Hlaing following the February 2021 coup d'état. Thant Kyaw
Thant (; ; January 22, 1909 – November 25, 1974), known honorifically as U Thant (), was a Burmese diplomat and the third secretary-general of the United Nations from 1961 to 1971, the first non-Scandinavian to hold the position. He held the office for a record 10 years and one month. A native of Pantanaw, Thant was educated at the National High School and at Rangoon University. In the days of tense political climate in Burma, he held moderate views positioning himself between fervent nationalists and British loyalists. He was a close friend of Burma's first Prime Minister U Nu and served in various positions in Nu's cabinet from 1948 to 1961.
