Maun Airport
Maun Airport is an international airport serving the town of Maun in the North-West District of Botswana. It is on the north side of the town and is accessible by shuttle bus or taxi. Maun Airport serves as the main gateway to the Okavango Delta and the Moremi Game Reserve. Many tour operators offer chartered flights over the Delta and to Botswana destinations such as the Makgadikgadi Pans, one of the largest seasonal wetlands in Africa. There are also daily scheduled flights to destinations in Botswana and South Africa. Wilderness Air operates regular charter flights from its Windhoek-Eros-hub, Namibia to Maun. Overview In April 2013, Exim Bank of China provided a $150 million loan to build the airport's new runway, taxiways and a new terminal to increase the airport's capacity from 500,000 to 1.7 million passengers annually. The airport operates 12 hours per day, with immigration and customs services available. It offers facilities and services including aircraft parking, cargo and passenger handling, refuelling, weather information, restaurants, duty-free shops, and banking facilities. Kasane Airport
Kasane International Airport is an airport serving Kasane, a town in the Chobe District of Botswana. The airport is located along the A33 Road, south of the town and south of the border with Namibia. Air Botswana provides scheduled service between Kasane and Gaborone on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. Numerous charter flight operators offer flights to other destinations in the vicinity. Because it is near Chobe National Park, the airport is mainly used for tourism. Most lodges in the Kasane area provide shuttles from and to the airport. A bus shuttle is available for travel to Victoria Falls in Zambia and Zimbabwe. History The present terminal was opened on 22 February 2018. Sir Seretse Khama International Airport , located north of downtown Gaborone, is the main international airport of the capital city of Botswana. The airport is named after Sir Seretse Khama, the first president of Botswana. It was opened in 1984 to handle regional and international traffic.
