Bill Mauldin
William Henry Mauldin (; October 29, 1921 – January 22, 2003) was an American editorial cartoonist who won two Pulitzer Prizes for his work. He was most famous for his World War II cartoons depicting American soldiers, as represented by the archetypal characters Willie and Joe, two weary and bedraggled infantry troopers who stoically endure the difficulties and dangers of duty in the field. His cartoons were popular with soldiers throughout Europe, and with civilians in the United States as well. However, his second Pulitzer Prize was for a cartoon published in 1958, and possibly his best-known cartoon was after the Kennedy assassination. Early life Mauldin was born in Mountain Park, New Mexico, into a family with a tradition of military service. Greg Mauldin
Gregory M. Mauldin (born June 10, 1982) is an American professional ice hockey forward for Stavanger Oilers of the Norwegian Eliteserien. He was briefly retired for the 2020–21 season and served as coach for the USA Hockey National Team Development Program. Playing career Mauldin played with the Boston Junior Bruins of the Eastern Junior Hockey League in 1999 where he showed his talent and explosiveness on the ice while earning consecutive First All-Star Team selections and the Eastern Junior Hockey League MVP Award in 2000. In 2001, he moved on to UMass Amherst where he accumulated 94 points in 98 games and led the Minutemen to the 2003 Hockey East Championship game. After three successful seasons with UMass he joined the Columbus Blue Jackets who had selected him with the 199th overall pick in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft. Bessie Lee Mauldin (December 28, 1920 – February 8, 1983) was an American bluegrass bassist, singer, songwriter, and a member of the bluegrass band “Bill Monroe and the Blue Grass Boys” from 1953–1964. Bessie Lee was nicked named "The Carolina Songbird" by Bill Monroe. Pioneer and trailblazer Bessie Lee was one of the first professional women bluegrass bass players, a trailer blazer, and as such Bessie Lee paved the way for both men and women bluegrass bass players for generations that continues to this very day. Lorenzo Malik Mauldin IV (born October 1, 1992) is a professional gridiron football defensive end for the Ottawa Redblacks of the Canadian Football League (CFL). Mauldin or Mauldin Logging Camp is a ghost town in Montgomery County, Arkansas, United States. Established in 1918 by Billy Mauldin in cooperation with Thomas Rosborough, it became heavily populated by 1922 by workers drawn to industries cutting and processing virgin timber in the area. It was located between Mount Ida and Pencil Bluff. History William W. Mauldin, known as Billy Mauldin, was born in Greer County, Texas, and in 1906 had homesteaded where Mauldin would later be located. Billy Mauldin worked in cooperation with Thomas Whitaker "Whit" Rosborough, who had formed the Caddo River Timber Company in 1906, when he started the town of Rosboro, in Pike County.
