Old High German (OHG; german: Althochdeutsch (Ahd.)) is the earliest stage of the German language, conventionally covering the period from around 750 to 1050. There is no standardised or supra-regional form of German at this period, and Old High German is an umbrella term for the group of continental West Germanic dialects which underwent the set of consonantal changes called the Second Sound Shift. Minnie "Maud" Powell (August 22, 1867 – January 8, 1920) was an American violinist who gained international acclaim for her skill and virtuosity. Biography Powell was born in Peru, Illinois. Her mother was Wilhelmina "Minnie" Bengelstraeter Powell, and her father was William Bramwell Powell. W.B. Powell wrote numerous books such as ''The Normal Course of Reading'' and served as superintendent of Peru Elementary School District 124 from 1862 to 1870. She was the niece of John Wesley Powell, an American Civil War hero and famed explorer of the Grand Canyon. He made his first scientific exploration of the Colorado River in 1869, when Maud was two years old. A member of the Socialist Party, she was a Deputy for the Essonne's 5th constituency, General Councillor for the Canton of Les Ulis and Mayor of Les Ulis. Maud Naftel (1856–1890) was a British watercolourist. Life Naftel was born in 1856, the daughter of Isabel Oakley and Paul Jacob Naftel who were both watercolour painters. She has been reported as an only child but it is thought that another artist named Isabel Naftel was her sister. Maud was trained in painting by her father, at the Slade School of Fine Art and by Carolus-Duran in Paris. Naftel exhibited at the Dudley Art Gallery and with their Society. She was considered to the "only true" flower painter as her parents, her sister and her two painting aunts had different or wider painting interests. Her illustrated book "Flowers and How to Paint Them" was published in 1886 and it became a standard work. Naftel died in London in 1890 at her father's home in Chelsea. Maud Mulder (born 17 November 1981 in Nijmegen, Netherlands) is a Dutch singer who rose to popularity after placing second in '' Idols Netherlands 2'', the Dutch version of ''Pop Idol'', shown by RTL 4. She is also a professional field hockey player with hoofdklasse side NMHC Nijmegen. On 12 March 2006, Mulder participated in the national Dutch Song Contest finals. However, the jury considered the three songs she performed to be without any potential for the Eurovision, since they were like many of The Netherlands' previous (unsuccessful) entries. Maud Meyer was a Sierra Leonean Nigerian jazz singer who rose to prominence during the 1950s. She was born in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, in Nigeria. From an early age, Meyer was exposed to music and had learnt from her mother who had a band. Musically, she was strongly influenced by the sounds of Billie Holiday. "Meyer’s skills were unrivalled; she would listen to any kind of music and convert it to jazz instantly". Immunohistochemistry (IHC) is the most common application of immunostaining. It involves the process of selectively identifying antigens (proteins) in cells of a tissue section by exploiting the principle of antibodies binding specifically to antigens in biological tissues. IHC takes its name from the roots "immuno", in reference to antibodies used in the procedure, and "histo", meaning tissue (compare to immunocytochemistry).
