Matthias Brändle
Matthias Brändle (born 7 December 1989) is an Austrian professional road bicycle racer, who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam . Brändle is a seven-time winner of the Austrian National Time Trial Championships (2009, 2013, 2014, 2016, 2019, 2020 and 2021), and also won the Austrian National Road Race Championships in 2016. Career In 2012, he rode for . In 2014, Brändle won two consecutive stages of the Tour of Britain. In October 2014, he followed in the footsteps of his agent Tony Rominger by setting a new hour record, breaking the month-old record set by 43-year-old Jens Voigt under new regulations introduced by the UCI in June 2014 allowing the use of modern track pursuit racing bicycles. The record stood until 8 February 2015 when it was broken by Australian rider Rohan Dennis. He was named in the start list for the 2015 Tour de France. 2013 Tour De Romandie
The 2013 Tour de Romandie was the 67th running of the Tour de Romandie cycling stage race. The race consisted of six stages, beginning with a prologue stage in Le Châble on 23 April and concluded with another individual time trial, in Geneva, on 28 April. It was the fourteenth race of the 2013 UCI World Tour season. The race was won by Great Britain's Chris Froome of , who led the race from start to finish – the first time that a rider had led from start-to-finish – after winning the opening prologue in Le Châble, extending his advantage towards the end of the race. Ultimately, Froome won the general classification by 54 seconds over runner-up Simon Špilak (), who was the winner of the race's Glossary of bicycling#queen stage, queen stage – the fourth stage – to Les Diablerets, ahead of Froome. History In 1995 Australian Bill Mitchell, a keen cyclist and professor of economics at the University of Newcastle, created the website titled "Bill’s Cycling Racing Results and News" after finding there was a need for fast-breaking news and race results in English-speaking countries. In 1999 Sydney-based publishing company Knapp Communications purchased the website from Mitchell, and in July 2007 they sold it to British publisher Future plc for £2.2m. In July 2014 it was bought by Immediate Media Company, along with the print-only ''Procycling'' magazine. In February 2019, Immediate Media sold its cycling titles back to Future. Eschborn–Frankfurt, previously Rund um den Henninger Turm Frankfurt, is an annual semi classic cycling race in Germany, starting in Eschborn and finishing in Frankfurt. The event, sometimes referred to as the Frankfurt Grand Prix, is held annually on 1 May, national Labour Day in Germany. As from 2017, Eschborn–Frankfurt is part of the UCI World Tour, the highest-rated professional men's road races, making it the second German World Tour event, together with the Hamburg Cyclassics in August. Züri-Metzgete (Zürich German; en, Championship of Zürich; german: Meisterschaft von Zürich) was a European Classic cycle race held annually in Zürich, Switzerland, and continued as a non-professional mass participation event from 2007 until 2014. It was a race with a long history dating back to 1914, on a demanding course in the hilly region around Zürich.
