Bob Matthewson
Robert Matthewson (13 April 1930 – 10 November 2000) was an English footballer and FIFA referee. Born in Newcastle upon Tyne, Matthewson had a spell playing for the Byker Youth Club's football team before he was signed by Bolton Wanderers. After six appearances for Bolton in six seasons, including three appearances in the Football League, Matthewson was allowed to leave the club on a free transfer by manager Bill Ridding. He then joined Lincoln City but never played a league game for them. He then entered National Service. Reg Matthewson
Reg Matthewson (6 August 1939 – 29 August 2016) was an English professional footballer. He played as a defender in The Football League for three clubs, making 394 appearances in the process. Playing career Matthewson began his professional career in his home city of Sheffield with Sheffield United, whom he signed a professional contract with in June 1958. He had to wait until 1961–62 for his league debut, with the Blades playing in the top-flight of English football at the time. After six years in the Blades' first-team, Matthewson joined Fulham in February 1968 for £30,000,'Where are they now?', Chester City v. Clive Denby Matthewson (born 1944) is a New Zealand civil engineer and former politician. Biography Early life and career Matthewson was born in Wellington in 1944. He was educated at Waitaki Boys' High School and University of Canterbury. He has a PhD in Civil Engineering which he completed in 1970. The title of his PhD thesis was: "The Elasticity (physics), elastic behaviour of a laterally loaded Deep foundation, pile". He worked as a civil engineer until he was elected to parliament in 1984. Political career He was chairman of the electorate for the New Zealand Labour Party, Labour Party and also a member of Labour's governing body the New Zealand Council. Trevor Matthewson
Trevor Matthewson (born 12 February 1963) is an English former professional footballer who played as a centre half. He played more than 500 senior games, including over 200 for Birmingham City. Biography Trevor Matthewson was born in Sheffield into a footballing family: both his grandfather ( Tommy Matthewson for Sheffield Wednesday and South Shields) and uncle (Reg Matthewson) had played professionally. He began his football career as an apprentice with home-town club Sheffield Wednesday, but failed to make the grade. After two seasons as a professional he dropped down a division to join Newport County and two years later he dropped another division to Stockport County. After a further two years he left the Football League entirely and signed for Lincoln City in the Conference.
