Matthew “Jimmy” Dalton
Matthew James Dalton ( – 2016) was an English professional rugby league footballer. He played at representative level for Great Britain (under-21s), and at club level for Hensingham ARLFC and Whitehaven R.L.F.C., as a , and he is a member of Whitehaven R.L.F.C. Immortals (Hall of Fame). Career Dalton was capped for Great Britain against France in 1986. His career ended due to Castleman’s syndrome . Later, he was diagnosed with Pyrin Associated Febrile Syndrome. Besides working at Starting Point, he was also working the switchboard and security at West Cumberland Hospital. Dalton started his rugby league career at Amateur side Hensingham ARLFC with his brothers he signing for Whitehaven R.L.F.C. Hensingham
Hensingham is a suburb of Whitehaven and former civil parish, now in the parish of Whitehaven, in the Cumberland district, in the ceremonial county of Cumbria, England. The ward population taken at the 2011 census was 4,145. Historically in Cumberland, the village is located to the south-east of Whitehaven on the A595 road, close to the Mirehouse Housing Estate and Moresby Parks. It has a Spar convenience store and several pubs – including the ''Distressed Sailor'' and the ''Lowther Arms''. Whitehaven
Whitehaven is a town and civil parish in the Cumberland (unitary authority), Cumberland district of Cumbria, England. It is a port on the north-west coast, and lies outside the Lake District National parks of England and Wales, National Park. It is south-west of Carlisle. The parish also includes the small village of Sandwith, Cumbria, Sandwith. Castleman disease (CD) describes a group of rare lymphoproliferative disorders that involve enlarged lymph nodes, and a broad range of inflammatory symptoms and laboratory abnormalities. Hensingham ARLFC
Hensingham ARLFC is an amateur Rugby league club based in Whitehaven. Founded in 1900, It wasn't until 1920 that the Club changed its allegiances to Rugby League. Hensingham are one of the oldest rugby clubs in the country. They now play their rugby in the NCL Division Two. National Conference league Hensingham ARLFC were elected to enter the Kingstone Press National Conference league in 2019 along with two other teams Heworth A.R.L.F.C. and Batley Boys ARLFC. They will be the fourth West Cumbrian club to be accepted into membership of the Conference, joining town rivals Kells A.R.L.F.C., And fellow West Cumbrian rivals Wath Brow and Egremont form the 2019 season.
