Matthew Gregory Lewis (9 July 1775 – 14 or 16 May 1818) was an English novelist and dramatist, whose writings are often classified as "Gothic horror". He was frequently referred to as "Monk" Lewis, because of the success of his 1796 Gothic novel ''The Monk''. He also worked as a diplomat, politician and an estate owner in Jamaica. Biography Family Lewis was the first-born child of Matthew and Frances Maria Sewell Lewis. His father, Matthew Lewis, was the son of William Lewis and Jane Gregory and was born in England in 1750. He attended Westminster School before proceeding to Christ Church, Oxford, where he received his bachelor's degree in 1769 and his master's in 1772. Matthew David Lewis (born 27 June 1989) is an English actor. He is best known for his role as Neville Longbottom in the ''Harry Potter'' film series. Born in Leeds, Lewis made his acting debut in ''Some Kind of Life'' (1995), guest-starring on dramas for ITV and BBC One before appearing in ''Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone'' (2001). Lewis played the role for ten years, concluding with the final film, ''Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2'' (2011), for which he received critical praise. ''Tiswas'' (; an acronym of "Today Is Saturday: Watch And Smile") was a British children's television series that originally aired on Saturday mornings from 5 January 1974 to 3 April 1982, and was produced for the ITV network by ATV. It was created by ATV continuity announcer Peter Tomlinson (later to become a regular presenter on the show) following a test period in 1973 when he tried out a few competitions and "daft stuff" between the programmes. Jank 1000 Jank 1000 was a suburban pop punk band originally formed in late 1998, in the suburbs of Omaha, Nebraska. The band's original lineup consisted of Matty Lewis on lead vocals and guitar, bassist Danny Isgro and drummer Jake Horrocks. Biography & Career Lewis was born in McDonald, Pennsylvania and later moved to Washington, DC in 1947. He attended college at Howard University in 1947 for a year and then continued at the University of Pittsburgh the next year before he dropped out. Matt Franklin Lewis (born 8 January 1987) is an Australian wheelchair rugby player. He won a gold medal at the 2016 Rio Paralympics as a member of the Australian Steelers. Personal Lewis was born on 8 January 1987. In 2011, at the age of 24, he was severely injured when making a home made bomb using a gas cylinder. The bomb making operation went badly wrong and left him in an induced coma for just over a month. He lost most of his fingers and both his legs had to be amputated above the knees.
