Matthew John Armstrong
Matthew John Armstrong (born August 28, 1973 in Chicago, Illinois, U.S.) is an American actor. He is known for roles in ''Turks'' (1999), ''The Profile'' (2010) and ''Heroes'' (2006). Early life Armstrong attended Naperville Central High School in Naperville, Illinois, where he played football and was the two-time Defensive Player of the Year in the DuPage Valley Conference. On May 4, 2012, he was recognized as a notable Naperville Central Alumni. Career Armstrong appeared in 1999 on the short-lived police drama Turks. He had a recurring role on ''American Dreams'' from 2002–2005. He portrayed an AIDS patient in an episode of ''House'' in 2005. From 2006–2007, he appeared on the television series ''Heroes'' as Ted Sprague. In 2011, he portrayed a phoenix in an episode of ''Supernatural''. GEICO Cavemen
The GEICO Cavemen are trademarked characters of the auto insurance company GEICO, used in a series of television advertisements that aired beginning in 2004. The campaign was created by Joe Lawson and Noel Ritter while working at The Martin Agency. According to an episode of the public radio show ''99% Invisible'', "It's so easy a caveman could do it" was first coined by Ritter. The inspiration for the campaign came from "Pastoralia", a short story by George Saunders, which revolves around a man and a woman, who work as "cave-people" for a failing theme park. In 2004, GEICO began an advertising campaign featuring Neanderthal-like cavemen in a modern setting. The premise of the commercials is that using GEICO's website is "so easy, a caveman could do it"; and that this slogan offends several cavemen, who not only still exist in modern society but live as intelligent, urbane bachelors. 2020 Major League Baseball Draft
The 2020 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft took place on June 10 and 11, 2020. The draft assigned amateur baseball players to Major League Baseball (MLB) teams. The draft order was set based on the reverse order of the 2019 MLB season standings. In addition, compensation picks were distributed for players who did not sign from the 2019 MLB draft and for teams who lost qualifying free agents. On March 26, 2020, MLB and the MLBPA reached a deal that included the option to shorten the draft to five rounds, and also shorten the 2021 draft to 20 rounds due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In a plan to allow teams to sign an unlimited number of undrafted players for $20,000 each, MLB ultimately opted to shorten the 2020 draft to five rounds. Pete Crow-Armstrong (born March 25, 2002) is an American professional baseball outfielder in the Chicago Cubs organization. Amateur career Crow-Armstrong attended Harvard-Westlake School in Los Angeles, California, where he played baseball. In 2019, his junior year, he was named the ''Los Angeles Times'' Player of the Year after hitting .395 with three home runs, 23 RBIs, forty runs, and 47 hits over 34 games, striking out only seven times.
