Matthew Hayball
Matthew Hayball (born 12 March 1997) is an Australian professional American football punter for the New Orleans Saints of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Florida Atlantic Owls and Vanderbilt Commodores. He previously was an Australian rules football player who was drafted by the Geelong Football Club, although he was delisted without having appeared in an Australian Football League (AFL) game. Early life and Australian rules football career Hayball was born on 12 March 1997 and grew up in West Adelaide, Australia. His father played in the Central Australian Football League. He attended Sacred Heart College in Adelaide from grades 7 to 12. Punter (gridiron Football)
A punter (P) in gridiron football is a special teams player who receives the snapped ball directly from the line of scrimmage and then punts (kicks) the football to the opposing team so as to limit any field position advantage. This generally happens on a fourth down in American football and a third down in Canadian football. Punters may also occasionally take part in fake punts in those same situations, when they throw or run the football instead of punting. Skills and usage The purpose of the punt is to force the team that is receiving the kick to start as far as possible from the kicking team's end zone. Florida Atlantic Owls
The Florida Atlantic Owls are the athletics teams of Florida Atlantic University. The Owls participate in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA)'s Division I as members of Conference USA. On October 21, 2021, Florida Atlantic accepted the invitation to join the American Athletic Conference (AAC) and will become a full-member on July 1, 2023. Nathan Chapman (footballer)
Nathan Chapman (born 7 May 1975) is a former Australian rules footballer who had a short career in the Australian Football League before a brief stint as an American football punter. At the time, he was one of a few Australians to be contracted at the top level in both the AFL and NFL. Chapman was selected in the 1992 AFL Draft at pick 2 by the struggling Brisbane Bears, from Kangaroo Flat. The Bears outfit, short of key defenders used the lightly built 188 cm tall Chapman at full back against many of the game's power forwards in his first few seasons.
